I think that the first half a dozen games or so will either uplift the spirits or confirm our worst fears. I still maintain the current squad is thin but contains some very useful players at conference level. I'd love the addition of Higgins, Turley (if fit) and a competent striker. In that scenario, we are ready to storm the league - something which I haven't really felt for a number of years.

Our midfield is still the only real worry for me, do we have a right winger yet?
Don't rate Brown as a wing back, so 3-5-2 needs to be plan B imo.

How far are we from a GOOD team? About 40 years.
How far are we from a team capable of winning the Conference? About 7 years.
The sad irony is that the answers are the same, whether you look forwards or backwards.

Sorry, saw the title and thought isn't there one south of the river? Or so they would like to tell us. My mistake, I'll get my coat. Yeah, I think the proper answer is 'about 40 miles.'

Not been in this preseason, first game will be the Grimsby game.
It seems we are to still sign a couple more players or so.
Then,we will be as far from being a good team as it takes DC to coach it into them. Much will depend on DC.He has told us about the attitude and ability of his squad,so now he has to get his message across.
How long that takes is how far off we are of becoming a challenging team.
