Well Dunford did,Trollope wanted fleetwood.how do I know, used to socialise with Paul when he was here.and he told me. So wether you like it or not Dunford made over £2 million and got 3 years great service from Rickie.

I still remember watching Rickie's first game for us away at Stockport. He came on as a sub and looked completely ineffective, a bit overweight and I wrote him off as a disaster of a transfer there and then. Never lived that one down!

I don't have a problem with him signing Lambert. It's Geoff's self publicising, self praising "I signed Rickie Lambert and left Ron Craig a promotion team" comment
It may well be factually correct, but it kind of ignored all the other sh*t

"Rovers substitute Rickie Lambert then entered the fray to make his debut against one of his former clubs and he almost made an immediate impact, but Spencer saved his close-range shot superbly."
A Sunday. It was pi$$ing down. Ran from the pub just before kick-off, and their stewards kindly let us go under cover rather than stand out in the open behind the goal.
Mrs. darlo said: "I like the look of him (Rickie), although he's a bit on the heavy side (Geordie euphemism for fat b'stard).

It was also a fact that they denied for eight years to try and prove that managers are allowed to manage. It also confirmed that Lenny would say anything that he was paid to say. Geoff Dunford certainly got this one right but the less successful signings will stay under wraps no doubt.

So pleased for Lambo, totally deserved too. A class act on and off the pitch.

I remember it well Darlo and it was actually Nick Higgs who was sat with his family on the uncovered end who asked the Stockport stewards to open the side to save us a drenching.
Mrs Darlo was right. Lambert nearly split his shorts open that day.

I remember seeing you, Mike Turl, Lands End Kim, can't remember anymore, was Colin Williams there? in that pub garden. And in the ground we were stood near Chesh and the good Dr.
Happy days
EDIT: Oh forgot; we lost 2-1 - still happy days though. Who would have thought of what was to come.
