Seems (unsurprisingly) like Fleetwood have been well on top since Lines was sent off. Frustrating! C'mon Rovers!!! Completely changed the game.

Thanks Chris Lines you have now ensured that our season has ended through your stupidity. Well done. No excuse for a senior player to get sent off for two yellows for dissent.

Lets blood some kids in last few matches, (preferably in Lines position!) now our season has effectively finished.
Woeful for a professional to be sent off under those circumstances.
It appeared on radio as Locks was guilty of giving ball away for the second. By his standards, poor season. Don't get the love in with him as ever-present?
Hugely disappointing again.

Thanks Chris Lines you have now ensured that our season has ended through your stupidity. Well done. No excuse for a senior player to get sent off for two yellows for dissent. Nice. Let's forget the games all season where we've picked up points with him controlling things going forward from midfield. Or even 3 days ago when he tucked away a penalty after running through mud for 85 minutes. Who scored the winner against Rochdale a few weeks back? Maybe a bit of balance? Anyway, we weren't going to make the play offs. Edit. Better news elsewhere, That mob down at the DSS Arena lost again, Accy look odds on to get promoted, can't help but feel happy about that after the way it was snatched away from them 2 years ago.

Lines walked away but came back and circled in front the ref as he was booking their bloke. Must have said something on his way because the second yellow appeared immediately. Daft really because the ref looked like a no nonsense type who didn't need much pushing. Up till then I thought we played well. Totally dominated the final 15 minutes or so of the first half, played like League 1's Man City with Bennet our very own David Silva. They couldn't get the ball off us. Totally different 2nd half. Thought Moore played well again and Telford patrolled the area sniffing for a chance. When's Sercombe back?

What a shame, sounded like we were controlling the game until the sending off - the stats were showing we had more chances at that point. According to the BBC, even having played the last 30 mins with 10 men, we still ended the game having had 55% possession overall.
Looking at some other stats ...
I checked the P.N.E. game earlier: they had 19 shots, but failed to score, and were beaten 1-0 by a Derby team that only had 2 shots all game. The goal was their first shot, on 52 mins, and their only on target.
I thought that was a bit lop-sided, until I spotted another from the same division ...
Shots: Home = 2 / Away = 27. Shots on Target: Home = 0 / Away = 7. Corners: Home = 1 / Away = 9. Goals: Home = 0 / Away = 1.
27 shots away from home. That's got to be some record.

Thought first half a winning draw for us. Lines did let us down, we know the quality of refs, but this one had asked Locks to have a word. Telford was given a chance, but too often the ball was kicked high to him and he was against some tall defenders. Ellis was not only working hard up front, but also defended well - would not be surprised to see him go, he is capable of playing higher. I enjoyed the old trams.

it sounded like Luke Russe had a 2nd solid game. That's got to be good news

Yes, if he did wrong, as we must assume so, then he did it discreetly - something invisible - I presume verbal. He must have said something bad to be booked twice and offed, because he appears not even to face the ref or opponent players. Weird.

Watched the managers post match interview,he said he was very unhappy with an experienced player like chris lines getting such a stupid red card. Said the matter will be dealt with internally. Thats fair enough imo.

Just back - frustrating day at the office.
First half played some pretty football but with little penetration. They had one chance from a free kick that brought a smart save to his left from Slocombe. Partington's injury disrupted our flow a bit but we were looking good for a point at least, and with an expected late surge for all 3. Their no 16 Diagouraga was lucky only to get a yellow card for a very late two footed lunge on (I think) Ollie Clarke who again played well throughout. Browner put a really inviting cross over that was begging to be tucked away but no-one was near enough to get on the end of.
Second half and Ellis was wrestled off the ball - obvious free kick to us but not in the eyes of the gimp faced piss wizard masquerading as a referee. Remember his name - Ross Joyce - the tosser who robbed us of 3 points at Blackburn. Trust me to inflict two long northern away trips ruined by this moron on my boys. If he ever shows his face down at the Mem he needs to get both barrels from the off. Lines picked up a booking in the aftermath of the incident, presumably for something he said, though it looked as if he was booking Ellis. Lines then very stupidly continued to chunter away, giving the tosspot all the opportunity he needed to add a second yellow and an early bath within a minute of his first booking. Totally brainless from "one of our own" but Joyce would no doubt have found another way to hand all 3 points to Fleetwood even if this opportunity hadn't been presented to him on a plate.
After that it was obviously backs to the wall. Telford and Moore were sacrificed with Russe coming in to bolster the midfield, and Gaffney to partner Harrison up front. The latter I thought a bit of an odd decision as Moore had been having a good game, and personally I'd have stayed with Harrison as a lone runner with Bennett in behind. We could sense what was coming and it duly did through a curled shot from the left hand side. From distance it looked a good goal but from the replay on their score board it looked to have gone straight through Slocombe, and therefore one he really should have stopped. I'd like to see it again, and if so will be a pity as he had made a couple of good saves to keep us in the game.
We then had our one and only clear chance of the game when Ellis rattled the bar with a screamer from some way out, and again none of ours got anywhere near the rebound. It clearly wasn't going to be our day. Near the end, a mistake at the back from Lockyer who otherwise had a sound game presented them with a gift wrapped second goal and totally flattering scoreline. Even with the ten we were worth a point in a game ruined by a p***k with a whistle.

Looking at the highlights, my initial impression that the first goal was a good one looks to be right, though Slocombe will be disappointed not to have done better with the second (but no blame attached to him as it was a one on one). I swear the highlights are out of sequence though. Could have sworn that Ellis hit the bar with us 1-0 down rather than before it.

Yeh that chance off the bar was on 80mins straight after their opener.
