Well,no Broadbean so must be injured.Locks and Ellis back and great to see Jim Clarke back on the bench.Win to-day and I will be excited muchly.Click on pic.Telford not even on Bench.DC clearly doesn't rate him at all if he's still below Nichols.

Monty has scored for Vale and amazingly Luke James has scored for Barrow.DC obviously doesn't rate Telford. Not even on bench to-day.
60 minutes. Attempt missed. Ellis Harrison (Bristol Rovers) header from the centre of the box is close, but misses the top right corner following a set piece situation.

Don't see how these subs are going to change things our 2 top scorer s in Sercombe and Harrison replaced by Gaffney and nicholls.looks like 4.2.4

Don't worry, we have Nichols, he'll score.

[ Sorry dc you got it wrong with the subs.we were comfortably holding a point then you go gung.ho.weaken midfield and add nothing up front.we got what the managers decision deserved bugger all. There are times to go for it and times to settle for a point and today was the latter

The Nichols thing has gone too far, it's good the support a player through a rough spell, but we are 3/4 of the way through the season and he's scored 1 goal, and that was because he couldn't be bothered to get into the right position, a defender didn't realise he was there, passed the ball to him and he had a tap in. Bringing him on reduces us to 9 effective outfield players. This is a tough division, you won't get away with carrying dead weight like that.

DC always plays for 3 points, its his way and I like him for being an attacking manager like Bill Dodgin or Bobby Campbell.

Terrible performance against a terrible team

Shocking performance from two very poor sides. Couldnt see us scoring if we played another 90 minutes but we were always capable of a failure in concentration and letting one in.
Gaffney gave the Ball away every time it came near him (he was appaling), Moore looked scared of the ball, he offered nothing and was weak in the tackle (leading to the goal), Nicholls never got into the game again offered nothing (another missed chance to prove the doubters wrong), Craig was again caught out with a simple cross (he doesnt seem to be able to jump), Bennett inaffectual and on this form easy to see why Pompey chose to let him go. Harrison was the frustrating player that unfortunately sometimes turns up.
Did the formation need changing at half time or did the players need the Ferguson hair dryer treatment to wake them up, well the second half was much worse then the first. Sercombe and Clarke not great but at least can control and hopld onto the ball and much more likely to get a goal then Moore and Nicholls.
Pluses (barely) Sinclair worked hard, Partington was good for 89mins (must share blame with Moore and Craig for goal), Lines at least plays football, Lockyear had an untroubled game. Only one dodgy goalkeeping moment (a Kick). Bola not too much problem defending (although offered little going forward)
Too many players out of form and DC's game plan and motivational talk amiss.
This should finish of any delusional talk of playoffs, important now to have a plan how we can refresh the squad over the summer.
