Awful ,Awful display.Send the loanees back, get rid of Nicholls who is as bad as Luke James and please lets have some quality to replace the mediocrity.Crap pitch,Stadium and team.See you at Walsall!!!! Guess Telford must be poor in training if Nicholls is preferred.
From the other Forum. Just to think I was fool enough to believe 'em when they said new stadium, top class training facilities and a top 6 budget...all has proved to be lies.

Truly dreadful.
Usual officials, came with an agenda and gave everything possible to one team, it wasn't us. Did I really see a player tell the referee he had a decision wrong and the ref agree and give them a corner? Who was actually in charge out there?
But what we could control we were dreadful at. Slow, predictable, lost count of the number of passes that went nowhere near a team mate. Only Ellis and maybe Sercombe deserve to be paid, the rest embarrassed themselves and our shirt.
Nichols is a disgrace, doesn't even try. Shame on him.

They didn't pick or sign the players or deteinevitably tactics. If things don't improve by this time on Jan 1 we will be in the bottom 4. Decisions need to be made no matter how unpopular preserving our status is more important than individuals

We have serious problems.

Oh dear.
A doom and gloom performance to match the apathy of fans.
I thought up until the 'corner gate' the ref got alot correct. Can't honestly say the disallowed goal was correct decision or not. Instinctively, doubt should be awarded to defending team (I suppose?), but that was linos call on west side, and a brave one to make.
Positives... Attendance. Surely one of highest black Saturday attendances? I felt we were all let down. This performance wasn't good enough
Smith had very little to do. You can attribute that to defence in part, but more to negativity of Donnie whom were here for the point, but robbed all 3! I'm not keen on Smith kicking.
Gaffney and Ellis. They tried. They really did. Both of them play like individual strikers up front alone, yet Ellis has added an important defensive aspect to his game.
Negatives... Donnie time wasting on goal kick in first half. Gamesmanship by feigning injury and attempts to get our players booked. Poor. That's what we came to expect.
Bodin. He's off by looks of it. Shame, as he can change matches....this was always one match he wasn't going to influence. He was tippy toeing across the box, not really getting involved.
Our misplaced passing. Our needing extra time to control ball. Our set pieces that don't pass the first defender. Our completely missed easy pass ball that almost sets up them for direct through on goal. Our lack of movement when we have the ball. Our lack of movement when we don't have the ball! Our continual failure to stop crosses from flanks. ALL BASIC AND NOT GOOD ENOUGH!
Captain. Again, where was the fight? Where was the passion ? Where was the urgency in stoppage time? Where was the leadership? Where was the up tempo when needed?
Sweeny. Liability. Where is his composure and assurance from last season?
We really weren't good enough to win today. Yes, we made their keeps make 2 very good saves, but apart from that I saw a lacklustre, mistake-prone performance that lacked creativity, tempo or passion. We seemed to be going through the motions. Stale. Predictable. Scrappy. Dysfunctional.
I hate to say it, we look like relegation fodder.
No one looks comfy on the ball. We lack width. Better teams will tear us apart if we play like this.
Something hasn't been right on or off the pitch for a while. Are we starting to see the beginning of the end of an era?

The distribution today was terrible, I can only put that down to confidence. Also DC being out for a few days and today, I'm sure that has some impact.

You cant blame the pitch, ref or Donny we got what we deserved ...mothing no goals and conceded a poor penalty. We cannot keep the ball ...Leadbitter was so bad he deserves a rest only Bodin showed glimpses of his undoubted skill.
Cant see where the next point is coming from

Every time they go and stand on the shoulder of a defender and remain static, so the midfielder looks up, zero movement ahead of him, the ball goes either back or wide, 2 minutes later we either lose possession or a wayward cross comes in. Maybe 1 time in 10 Rory makes a run, but Ellis just stands still and we end up with both of them in the same place. Can we get some movement ahead of the ball to give the midfield some options, or can the attackers hold back and make late runs to move the defenders around a bit, or maybe the midfield could just get the ball in and around the opposition box faster, just like every other team we play do? We are hard to watch at times.

Well what can I say? Unless Wael and Hani invest dur8ng January, we are in deep, deep trouble. We cannot control, We cannot pass, we cannot cross from corners, we cannot up the tempo, we are a very poor League 1 side. I didn’t think it was a penalty, it looked very harsh from where I was but that said, we never looked like scoring really. We have too many players wa TThanks night for something to happen, which is a real indicator of a side with little confidence and in trouble. Confident teams make things happen. January’s transfer dealings will decide if we stay up or not. Bodin looks as though he knows he is going as he did the minimum he could get away with. Only Ellis and Rory can come out with any really credit from today’s performance as they worked their socks off for little reward.

Are we starting to see the beginning of the end of an era? God forbid you're wrong but I have a gut feel you're right. The activity (or lack of it) in the transfer window will be very telling.

Absolutely beyond moronic that call.

How about running your mouth without reading the entire thread, some may call that moronic, just saying like I've said above that Ellis is one of only a couple who put in a proper shift today. They are obviously doing what they have been told to do, but it's just so slow, predictable and easy to defend against. Apology awaited.

You are right, strikers generally, were sitting on the shoulder as you described. Why oh why.

Don't agree for goodness sake, that makes you a 'moron' as well We've been doing it all this season and the second half of last season also. It's OK if you go there then when one of their blokes picks you up you try to drag him out of position, but to just stand like that, all you do is deny yourself space and the bloke with the ball options. It's not as if we use Ellis and Rory as target men and have runners coming in to pick up any scraps. I don't get it.

I always preferred Marie to Donnie! Tough match today, we need a win as our next batch of home matches are far more testing. I think we'll struggle and go for first scoring draw of the season. 7878 att. No satans grotto. MERRY GASMAS EVERYONE..... COME ON YOU BLUES! That was amongst the worst games of football I have had the misfortune to witness. I bet both teams never had more than 5-6 shots and we lacked desire, fire and belief. No one is running to the player with the ball, the players are not communicating at all and the GK was lucky not to give 2 goals away with mis hitting kicks twice, one from his hands ffs. I said it before a ball was kicked and I still say it, we are in for a relegation fight this year. I’m gutted our goal was disallowed as the ref and linesmen were awful. It certainly didn’t look like it went out and I was in a good position to view it. Dire game and in truth, neither side deserved a win. Doncaster were 5h1te too

I think lack of confidence is a big issue at the moment, its dragged the team down and made several players a pale shadow of their bright and lively former selves. Positives today? Gaffney very lively in the 2nd half. Partington looked like bambi on ice in the 1st half but got on the ball and played some probing forward passes in the 2nd period.

Having watched the highlights of both Bristol club's games, I don't think either penalty was justified. But of course in each case the attackers fell to the ground in true 'let's have a penalty' spirit..........
