Very sporting of DC to sub our best player for our least effective (even if only for the last couple of minutes). Get the f*ck in. Brilliant result. Ellis was Injired I think.

Praise be. A win at Long last. Well done lads for hanging in and getting a result. Like an old manager of the 82 once said I don’t look at the tabes and so I didn’t know Rotherham are above us. Let’s hope this is a turning point. It’s so nice to have a weekend where a win can be celebrated.

Ok.. We deserved to win by more, but fair play we conspired to make things more difficult.
10men looked more like 12 at times!
Nice all stadium singing, we made some noise in second half and very supportive considering our recent form. No dissenting voices. Nothing negative today!
Positives.. Ellis is the new Bodin! Undroppable! Where is the lazy sheed good for nothing comments this season? This is the best Ellis we have seen in many a year. Credit to him and management team in his performance, fitness and attitude. In a period of play just after sending off, Rotherham player wrestling him for ball. (as usual no help from ref) but last split second Ellis wins ball that doesn't lead to anything but Miller late forearms him in back of head and says something to Ellis....whom looked back , but DID NOT retaliate!? Ellis....we have matured, mate! Brilliant running, well taken goal (thanks to Lines assist) and for me, m o m. So pleased for him, he's really worked hard close season and taken alot on board re criticism.
Sincs. Take a bow, son. Did he miss place one single pass today? Even his sublime winner header for Ellis assist second Sercombe should have received plaudits. Worked hard which is what us GasHeads appreciate, even though limited ability, he used it fantastically today and was a menace to their midfield.
Leads....Danny was my first half m o m as everything positive seemed to resonate from him. Again, he's in a rich vein of form, hope we can keep him fit.
Dc....his subs changed the game. We needed to up tempo and create space, he called it right with his double sub at the right time. He also announced an unchanged starting line up. It paid dividends. Stop f***ing around and play what we need. Well done!
Negatives.. Referee....again....jeeez, someone shouted something out about peppa pig! Unfair on poor old peppa, methinks. He got the sending off correct, but he booked Sweeny when their number5 was doing the same thing all match to Ellis and then, Gaff!? East side lino def got two offsides wrong. Poor again. I mean, ref was so poor he even gave Gaff a foul...i mean a foul against a ginger player is unheard of, innit?
Nichols. Someone (maybe me) said once he gets one, he'll get more....um, when? Brilliant ball by Gaff to Nichols through on goal.....did he nutmeg himself? Amazing! Must admit, I couldn't do that! I'm all for giving players a chance, but come on? We need his goals now.
So we move on to Southend. Then Gills away. Then Donnie at home. That'll be 3/4 home matches. Dare we think all are very winnable?!
This result and probably more importantly performance (as well as last week) should be giving us much needed confidence. I wouldn't make any change to starting lineup even though I think there is a place for Gaff somewhere.
We'll see. In dc we trust.
Lets hope for bigger crowd, more support and and more points closer to play offs..
A good day to be a GasHead..

You have to mention Nichols one chance but don't mention Billy missing one with keeper to beat and Sercs missing two. All headers on first half You're correct. I did mention we deserved to win more. Bodin's miss was horrible. Sercombe's was less so. Both should definitely have had directed headers in target, and scored. 100%. The difference is, both bodin and sercombe (to me, maybe not you) have proved themselves by scoring many times before and put in performances that are m o m or worthy of wining games. If we'd have lost, we would be looking to those chances wouldn't we for chances missed? In my opinion, Nichols had more time, he anticipated the pass and was unmarked, unchallenged and was the worst miss of all three so most worthy of mention..

Sounds like Darrell implementing a "siege mentality" has paid off. Really pleased - especially for Darrell (and Ellis). I'm going to the pub now to celebrate.

Absolutely, Epping.
On set pieces, everyone was back defending. It seemed more important not to concede, rather than leave one upfront for counter.
It might work sometimes, not everytime. Rotherham had a wicked curled in free kick towards end of match (crap decision on east side ref saying foul by Leads), but their attacker misjudged curl and somehow got behind the ball heading....it bisected keeper and players. Lucky miss.
Again, Ellis done his fair share of defending and we needed everyone, but I have to say we need to mark up more.
Siege mentality it was.
Enjoy, EG..

Great result and showed character coming back from one down. Ellis looked as if he came off for a knock though he must have been shattered, he ran everything down and never allowed their defence to settle. Doesn’t look serious, I hope! UTG!

With everything read online recently, thank you very much for a lovely positive review of what sounds like ninety minutes pride in the players. Those hating EH surely have to give it up now, don't they?

Those hating EH surely have to give it up now, don't they? Probably not! Nothing wrong with criticism of poor performances, and maybe in the past it was deserved sometimes. But equally, he's brilliant this season and without him, we'd be alot worse off. I would seriously think about offering him extension on contract if it's up end of season..

I would seriously think about offering him extension on contract if it's up end of season.. If it's up end of season then he can start negotiating elsewhere in a moon or so, and I heard somewhere we pay poorly - from our own manager. I presume BB's off soon, and I can't even blame him. If both BB and EH were to follow the money... well you know.

Yeah sorry for ruining the thread of your lovely positive report with my prophecies of doom and despondency. Enjoy your evening; I'll try to shut my beak.

Tough conditions, everyone battled hard, we deserved to win that, well done to the players for not letting their heads go down. You could see at the end what it meant to them.
No 24, what a coward, sucker punching someone like that, hope he gets the longest ban possible and the club impose the severest punishment they can on him as well. Pathetic individual.
Typically woeful performance from the officials, but the ref saw that, so fair play to him for that at least.
