Complete mess.Playing Nichols ahead of Gafney is just stupid, in fact, playing Nichols ahead of almost anybody with 2 legs is stupid, honestly don't care if we never see him in a Rovers' shirt again.
How we weren't 4 down at half time I'll never know, our defence is pathetic and Lines just stands and watches. The 2nd goal sums it all up, 1 defender trying to deal with 2 players and nobody else could be bothered to run 10 yards to help.
We have serious problems.
The way we are playing is not conducive for the strikers to score in anycase. We are a very predictable side and any half tidy manager will find that working out how we play and even how we substitute, an easy job. These are all DC’s problems and I fear he is both too stubborn and not open to change from his blueprint.
I said that we are now playing like the away side but at home now, on Saturday and it’s true. Always looking to nick one instead of pushing up further and trying to pressure the away sides.
Pour form is now firmly relegation stuff, only our home form has kept us in good stead in the last couple of seasons. I know we can’t expect to win all the time but to see the heads start to drop after just the first goal was very worrying.
In my mind the stage was set in the summer and I said we were in for a torrid time, not using those exact words but I did say I felt we could be in for a relegation battle and I don’t see January bringing anything better and because I don’t see Hani Al Q being prepared to spend. I see loans at best.
Sorry to be so negative but we made some very poor decisions in letting certain players go and bringing in only the one decent player in Sercombe. I bet he must be thinking wtf have I done.
Nicholls is not worthy of his starting spot in my opinion but Gaffney is. This is one of the things where DC will want to keep, playing Nicholls, to try to rationalise the money and faith put in him. Sinclair is another who is not anywhere near good enough, bless him for effort but the holes he leaves when chasing the ball, just awful.
I’m sad to say that unless there is some real change then we are in for a very difficult season.
