By my understanding of Harry's definition I'm definitely not real. This is brilliant, not many lower League club forums today will have discussions raging about solipsism. Nice one Harry. Wonder what he has planned for us tomorrow, maybe a considered evaluation of the Borde-Guth-Vilenkin therum? Or maybe he'll just threaten to kick someone's head in? you make me laugh really do....expect a knock on your door at midnight ..sending the boys round for your subscription !

Differing opinions aside. Historically, people have joined the committee and attempted to instigate change. Despite their best endeavours, they didn't get very far as the 'old guard' (for want of a better phrase) appeared resistant to change. It seems they still are. But they only have to look at their annual accounts for the last few years to see that something surely has to change. I would like to hear reports from this year's AGM of the committee stating their intention to self analyse and re-evaluate. If not, then the SC will remain stuck in the past which Padstow and Harry seem happy to reminisce about. Which is fine, but will surely see the demise of the organisation at some point in the (possibly not too distant) future. I believe Jim Chappell has stood down twice in the past. He's many years older now than he was then. No-one seems to want to take his place. That in itself should be a concern for SC committee and members alike, you'd think. When no-one is inclined to take on the 'top job' (in any organisation) it doesn't exactly breed confidence. I reckon Jungleboogie, Bamber could perhaps do the Chairman's job or maybe even the doctor ?
Seriously though no organisation can survive without an active committee.

I want you all to disappear up your own backsides, so I won't be entertaining any thoughts of joining, let along Chairperson. What it probably needs, is some loud mouth, with delusions of grandeur to front it, does anyone you know spring to mind???

Noooooo, come back, you are the reader and man of words, don't run away now, we're just getting started, you don't want people to think you are all mouth and incapable of investing a few years into researching and considering differing views on serious subjects, do you?

No comment on the other points, but if the shop runs at a loss, it will drain the supporters club reserves and ultimately will have to be closed, and the only difference being the money from the sale of the shop will be gone. Also I am presuming once the sweetheart deal on rent expires loses will only increase. But if as those on here want the club is closed it won't matter about the shop because it won't be needed. Problem being that it's in the main only those non members want it closed. Bit like non shareholders of a company want to determine the way the company is run The only way to change things is to join and use your vote to effect change nothing is achieved from behind a keyboard Seems nothing is done either way. Apathy and indifference are why. People have become too used into thinking that, by posting their opinion or derision on social media, IS actually doing something. I despair at times. People keep saying times have changed but they have missed the part that people have changed even more so. Many of my reasons for choosing to follow Rovers was due to the gallows humour, being magnanimous in defeat and truly feeling a part of an extended family/community. Most of that is now gone and if you really want to see just how bad our fans have got then follow the Rovers appreciation page on Facebook and see some of the most vile vitriol being aimed at our own players and worse. When I started following Rovers, there was a noticeable difference in between us & them lot south of the river. I don’t see any difference now. As much as the SC May have it’s faults, it can change but I fear our fanbase has changed beyond recognition. If not for a select few then I’d have called time on all of this now. It’s been a lot of fun but never anything lasting. An outsider would never believe that we just had our best placing in over 20 odd years and would probably run for the hills. It is not just on forums that we Air our differences, the hostility is palpable & I find it all quite sad.

It's a stuck record Harry. You are closer to the truth than you know, endless discussions, nothing changes, that's why the SC is still in the 1960s/70s. Here's the actual point, the club is supposed to represent the interests of supporters, does it do that or does the Chair see it's primary function as being there to support the FC? You don't actually have to reply by the way as I know the answer to that because I've been sat next to Jim when he's told me what he thinks the SC is for. BTW, I've done my bit selling on match days, it goes all the way back to Eastville, selling scratch cards in the stands, and whilst I admit that at Eastville I did do it as much as anything because I was still at school and didn't have the money to pay to get in, since leaving school I've never taken a free match day ticket for myself, can you say the same Harry? I knew you had no backbone to rise to the challenge .....no such thing as a free lunch you know that Bamby ....You spend hours researching, writing an article for the award winning matchday programme, emailing it and then proof reading an 88page programme which takes like six hours for nothing ? Please do that for one game and I will respect you. You know you wont Now at least I know why people go on about the proof reading lol. I’m genuinely surprised at the sense of entitlement that comes across in this post given that it comes from someone who has previously denied getting tickets & who seemed happy to act like it was all for the love of the club. It is said confession is good for the soul.

[b Jools think you may have read the post slightly wrong harry is a season ticket holder and has been for many years.what he was suggesting is that instead of people having a dig at him they give him a week off and they do the programme artitle just once and see how they get on

Won't be much longer before they loose their portfolio so its academic who or what they represent So my earlier question stands who is going to make up the financial contributions the s.C.makes to the club after all we are told it is evolution not revolution so no money being flashed about by dwayne sports May be forum members will put their hands in their pockets We already proudly do THE FANS FORUM SPONSOR CLUB OR FFSC. Now that is something to be proud of and is run brilliantly. None of the benefits of the SC like ticket allocation priority ad EVERY penny goes into sponsoring players. A truly great thing

Sometimes it gets hard to distinguish what is actually being said. I read it as Harry saying he wrote and proof read the article and got a match ticket in exchange. I had the Mrs read it, without any pre loading, she too read it that way and especially with the added comment that there is no such thing as a free lunch. Maybe Harry could clarify this once and for all ?
