Fantastic. I've just added another 20 members. I assume you have members e-mail addresses, will you be sending out an e-mail directly to them also as a reminder ? Well done on the additional members and getting the club house for the meeting, any idea on the total numbers signed up to BRISA so far ?

We are just short of 300 members from Bristol, the surrounding area, most parts of the UK and worldwide. However the more members there are, the stronger the voice we can provide. Please ask all friends, relations and even those you are not so friendly with to look at the website, consider the aims and objectives (campaigns) and if they agree with what we are trying to achieve, sign up as a member.
We want to provide an independent voice for supporters and fans.
Even if you feel we are not being radical enough please help us to make what you might see as a small difference.
bristolroversisa.org/campaigns/
An email will be going out to all members tomorrow and no doubt early next week.

yes my post about the shirt for raffle was supposed to be funny ..not a dig and yes talk is good ...not cheap ...I even joined the BRISC today ...and send my apologies for 30 July ...as did you know besides it being the day ENGLAND WON THE WORLD CUP IN 1966 ...I saw it ...on a black and white tv....I was only a nipper ....it is also my SECOND WEDDING ANNIVERSARY on 30 JULY ....and my dear wife needs to be treated that evening ...I don't think a trip to the Mem ...however enticing and the prospect of a new Rovers shirt would not be enough ....a meal and a bunch of flowers seems more likely to be of interest to her ...HOPE THE GATHERING GOES WELL NEXT WEDNESDAY

I have to say that e-mail was pretty poor in my opinion.
Most importantly it didn't state the venue or the time, whih would seem to be pretty important pieces of information. Not everyone who is a member is necessarily reading this forum to get those vital facts, and in any event they should be clearly stated in an all-members e-mail.
There was also nothing about the aims and objectives of the meeting, even though it was suggested that everyone possible should attend. Might be worth mentioning why it is so important and what the meeting is to be about.

The one today was merely a simple reminder. I'm quite sure people do not want me saying the same thing too often.

Just in case you didn't:-
First BRISA meeting:30 July 7pm to 9pm - The Memorial Stadium Clubhouse Bar - Bristol Room
Members
First of all thank you for your support of this initiative and becoming a member of Bristol Rovers Independent Supporters Association. I think that the best message regarding our aims is to provide a united, supportive yet critical voice for supporters.
We clearly need to be positive in our endeavours and earn the respect of all parties. There will be no benefit in merely "sounding off".
Those currently guiding BRISA need your help:- • Ask questions • Put forward ideas • Give opinions • Criticise
Most importantly we need members to commit to the long term by agreeing to fill positions and take on responsibility to move BRISA forward.
Whether or not you can or will be able to help please attend our inaugural meeting on 30 July. The Club have very kindly allowed us the use of The Memorial Stadium Clubhouse Bar - the Bristol Room - from 7pm to 9pm.
All of the above will be on the agenda.
Please let us know if you can, or can't, attend as it will give us an idea of numbers - bristolroversisa@gmail.com
We all have niggles and experiences regarding Bristol Rovers. To this end I would appreciate brief details of a single issue which you have. For the purposes of this project please keep away from the big, obvious, contentious issues which, realistically, we cannot at present affect; we can discuss those at the meeting. As well as the issue, and more importantly, I would appreciate your view on how it can be best resolved. To assist I attach a document headed "My Thoughts". If you wish to put your name to it you can (it would be helpful) but that is not a requirement and, if you do, your name will not be passed on to anyone or any entity without first obtaining your permission. Please either bring this along to the meeting or email it to me - bristolroversisa@gmail.com - whether or not you can attend. I will then go through these and prepare a synopsis.
Small steps...

You're right, I had the e-mail on Sunday but it's useful to send a brief reminder like you've done, see you tomorrow

any revelations about how the meeting went ? Sadly the attendance was very poor with about 20 in attendance... the meeting itself if im honest lacked in structure but it was always a case of this meeting being about gauging some feeling getting ideas and getting people on board... we have gained the start of a team of 'foot soldiers' to help promote BRISA at games now so small progress, we had agreement on the 4 aims that we set out as campaigns/aims as per the website ... there was good talk and some great info from people with invaluable ideas and knowledge. .. we need a further better attended meeting in the future and we need to choose an offical head team of people in defined roles such as a chairman, secretary and treasurer. .. anyone interested in this roles or to offer more help with things such as leafleting on matchdays please contact bristolroversisa@gmail.com Disappointing start in some ways but small steps will lead to bigger better things and we will take this on... over 300 members spread far and wide but we need more to turn up at these things.. however we had around 40 people contact us to explain why they couldnt attend this time so hopefully our next meeting will be better attended and also we will have a firmer structure. . I must say thanks to those that came along and gave me personally much food for thought and a good nudge in the direction this association needs to take and for your offers of advice and knowledge that was brought to the meeting ... if nothing else im sure people found some of the talk insightful ... it was slightly disappointing but I believe in the principles of BRISA and believe we can help bring change ... we just need a bit more active influence from members.. a tiny step tonight... small steps next leading to big things in good time Cheers Tom

It's never easy at these types of meetings particularly when it's the first one and you're trying to guage the feelings of people most of whom you've never met before. You are right though there is definitely a need for a 'leadership team' to organise the 'foot soldiers', to speak on behalf of them and to help develop it further. I wouldn't be too disappointed about the attendance though, there is likely to be a feeling of meeting overkill at the moment, I mean this is the 5th one I've attended in 2 months so some may be feeling a bit tired of them. Keep to the principles agreed and see where it takes us UTG !
