I don't think things get interesting in the FA Cup until Round 5 and beyond so while I wouldn't shed any tears at a loss at this stage, it would be a nice change if we could go on a bit of a cup run this year. Have a feeling this one will end in a draw with a replay at the Mem in a couple of weeks. I'm going for a 1-1. COYB!!! BTW: Are any or all our loanees out for this game?

For as long as we're in the top half of the 3rd division or above, I believe we should aim to win with a hat-trick at a Premier League ground in the third round. So winning in rounds one and two really matters to me. Next year I'll be there.

I fully expect a 2-0 defeat today but would settle for a last minute winner from gaffers

Hope we treat this as a proper game, save the mass rotation for Portsmouth on Tuesday.
Linesy is suspended, Montano and Easter looked like they picked up knocks. Not sure on the status of our loan players, but presumably Roos, Colkett, JCS, James can definitely play at they're here for the season. Without a winger and our best central midfielder I'd probably start with a pragmatic 3-5-2 and bring on the wingers if we need to liven things up.
So...
-------------------------Roos-------------------------
------------Lockyer---Hartley---Clarke-Salter----------
Leadbitter----------------------------------------Brown
----------------Boateng---Colkett---Sinclair-----------
---------------------Gaffney----Taylor-----------------
Mildy or Puddy J Clarke O Clarke Moore Bodin or Montano Harrison Easter or James
If Boateng isn't allowed then same but with Ollie Clarke in the team and someone else on the bench!

It appears that commentary of the Crawley game might be available online (only in the UK though). BBC Radio Bristol Guide
"Coverage of Crawley Town v Bristol Rovers (12pm - FA Cup first round - UK only), Yeovil Town v Solihull Moors (3pm - FA Cup first round - UK only), and Bristol City v Brighton & Hove Albion (5.30pm - NOT online)".

From memory I think this is the case as the FA Cup rights are a different package to the league.

I agree with kwg, I hope we treat this more seriously than other cup competitions.
I too would start 3-5-2.
So:
Roosters.
Hartleysters - Locksters - JClarkesters.
Brownsters - Sincsters - Collettsters - OClarkesters - Leadbittersters.
Gaffsters - Taylorsters.
Substers. Puddysters.
SaltyClarksters. Boatengsters. Bodinsters. Mooresters. Eastersters. Ellisters.
Hope we're in the next round draw. Most importantly after that, no injuries or cards.. UptheGas!

We have a big enough squad with effectively all first team players. Crawley have an odd squad, owned by the Turks, there's a few foreigners in a league 2 outfit.
I think we'll win. Will we see mans or LL today?

The last 2 years we've treated the FA cup as a training session and got promoted.
Same again please.

Why did you have to go and say that, you'll set Harry off again......
