I've only watched it back about 50 times. I've not stopped yet. He looks round. He sees his teammate's movement. It's on the volley. Technique too good for the third division?

Charlie Colkett came on for the second half and was brilliant. This moves me onto my highlight of the evening. Did you see Charlies back heeled half volleyed killer pass for Mattys second? He's on the edge of their box.The ball is up in the air and due to land in Charlies range. 1.He takes a look behind at Matty. 2.He allows the ball to land behind him. 3.I'm not sure if he is even actually watching the ball, but he than delivers a killer back heeled half volly for Matty to score. It looked world class to me.Zindane eg,would of been happy with that one and i can't recall ever seeing the like at Rovers before or even on the box. Here's a quick replay of that little tickle, well worth another go: https://vine.co/v/5w79vZ9phQOI think we should file that under 'D' for 'Daamn, what did he just do?'. I think Karl Robinson will.

I've only watched it back about 50 times. MK Dons were going to ground at every opportunity. Pathetic diving cheats (and their idiot manager admitted as much). Matty never takes his eyes off of the ball and probably doesn't even know that that 'defender' had hit the deck. I see MK lost 0-3 at home to Sarfend in front of an alleged crowd of 11,039. LOL. Bye bye brainless Karl Robinson. Just saying.

The Gents urinal in the away end certainly wasn't sanitised, a room about 8 by 6 with just a channel in the concrete floor around the sides with no flushing water or sinks. Have to concur with the above. The Vetch was definitely one of the more 'charismatic' grounds if you can call it that! The giant iron-clad kenco jar with the phantom serving hands for the food outlet was a classic and that bog was absolute filth. Not a place for the faint hearted around there either. Ground was a total shambles with odd-shaped stands and different types of floodlights in each corner. I'm sure the Swansea lads loved it though. Hard to tell if the picture above was taken before or after demolition started to be honest. It really was a proper away day travelling to Swansea... Ha, ha, too right. Only been there twice, once in the old Home Championships when Wales played Northern Ireland (was the only time I saw George Best in a live game, and assume we were supporting NI as we were an all English family !) and the last time we played Swansea at the Vetch I think, we lost to a last minute twice taken Lee Trundle goal, who gave it back to us big time and it all kicked off. However, having travelled down there with my son from Cwmbran he decided to go in with the Swansea supporters, having a Welsh accent thought he'd be safer in there with them

I'm listening, particularly agree with your last sentence. Just a word of warning should you venture to the Emirates / Olympic Park etc etc. You insist on standing up and swearing (naughty naughty boy) - you will get ejected. Reminds me of a trip to Arsenal / Sunderland (first game of the season about 5 years ago). Kieran Richardson went in studs up early on. I involuntarily jump up out my seat with a "f*ck off Richardson" - at which point I'm glared at by about 20 people and a steward reminds me if I do it again I'll be out. Welcome to the sterile, sanitised and thoroughly tedious world of corporate football. You're welcome to it. Not been to the Vetch or Boothferry Park so can't comment. I bet you real Brighton fans prefer the Goldstone Ground. I'll do some digging and report back. UTG! OK - it's hardly definitive but re: Amex vs Goldstone - www.cpfc.org/forums/archive/index.php/t-241483.html - some interesting comments for and against. The atmosphere at the Amex is patently worse. But Brighton now have better facilities, bigger (quieter) crowds and more money coming in. From my perspective it looks like they have forfeited the clubs identity in exchange for a wider fan base and money. What is a Clubs identity? The Club IS the fans and the atmosphere they create. The fans are the backbone of the Club. Players, managers and stadiums come and go. They are all transient. For me there is a real risk of losing the Clubs identity should we move to a new 'meccanno build' stadium. Just saying.

What relevance has the Goldstone Ground got? They were in a public park surrounded by an athletics track and temporary seating prior to their move to Amex.

With a new ground you have to try to get a great atmosphere from first game, there will be lots of newbies there in the early games and maybe they will catch on to what it's all about. Question is how is it achieved

I am talking about the spiritual home of Brighton & Hove Albion - the Goldstone Ground. Look up Brighton 2 Bristol Rovers 8 :-) You are talking about the Withdean Stadium...

They didn't leave the Goldstone for the Amex though, the Amex is a vast improvement on their previous ground.

Why is it relevant? The Goldstone Ground is long gone, you might as well ask which is better, being 25 or being dead.

It is relevant with respect to the debate about old, traditional football grounds vs. new all-seater grounds. How that morphs into a debate about rather being dead or alive is beyond me. Unless you're trying to work in an angle about Pete Burns. (RIP).

But is it a debate worth having? Old traditional grounds (which I prefer), are dead and gone (or going, in the case of ones that cling on), and new all-seater grounds are here to stay. Whether some individuals enjoy the new experience, compared to their old experiences,is neither here or there.
Whatever form it eventually takes, the UWE will more closely resemble the Amex than it will Eastville, or the Goldstone, or any other historic stadium. This is unavoidable.

I liked Boundary Park, a mixture of the two.
