Starting the thread early because I'm bored.
Gills come into this match off the back of two defeats against recently relegation threatened Wimbledon and still relegation threatened Oldham.
With many boycotting the Checkmeforlice Trophy this will be a lot of people's first home game for 3 weeks, so I'll guess a crowd of 9,500 + 1 one confused Brummie, an old mate I'm subjecting to Rovers for the first time.
I'll go for a comfortable 2-0 win for the Gas.

Time Matty showed his true colours and scored a Hat trick..... But i will settle for a boring 1-0

its amazing that people are talking about "comfortable wins" after 2 straight promotions and playing against better opposition but thats optimism i guess brought about by the roller coaster last 2 seasons. were just a few points off the relegation places and play-off places so for me at the moment there are about 18 teams all roughly equal with the table not yet taking proper shape.

It'd be nice to get a comfortable win, but I'd be just as delighted with an uncomfortable one.

Should be a good crowd tomorrow: been a while without a home game, been on a good run. And there are very few tickets left online in the South Stand and South West Stand, which is a good indicator. One oddity is that the Gillingham website states they were only given 500 tickets between the stand and terrace. The away terrace should be close to the 1,000 mark alone. Apparently they have around 200 left to sell. Another strange point is they say they have 300 tickets for the West Enclosure, rather than East Terrace: www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/article/2016-17/bristol-rovers-and-fleetwood-ticket-information-3345730.aspx

I really really really hope we start well tomorrow.
And for me, that's a standard 4-4-2. Instead of messing around with formation and losing the initiative, surrendering the first goal and making things harder for ourselves.
Be nice to roll out a great performance against a Gillingham team I think we are capable of comfortably competing against.
Be nice to see Matty back, loud Mem, large crowd, sun shining, Gas 3points... Gas 2-0.

im still pinching myself that we are playing league one games, something i thought was at least 10 years away very recently. no reason we cant win tomorrow because this team always thinks they will win it seems. cant wait to watch another match at this level.

so looks like wing backs, Sincs and Lines to break it up, Chazza Colkett to thread the passes, and a big and small up front

'two well-matched sides so far' per KB
RadBris man notes that Gills haven't won for 10 games, and lost 7 of them

KB saying Rovers created 3 good chances 1st half and didn't take any of them. And it seems to be a bit of a theme this season
