dont know what the issue is with ellis? been a regular performer in 2 promotions and dosnt look out of place in league 1 and as a bonus made chelsea defender cahill look like a little weakling v chelsea. he isnt perfect but hes pretty good. he wasnt dropped v swindon just rotated as dc always does with most of our players, hilarious how many forum users cant work out how dc operates??

I decided not to use chilli flakes in last night's risotto since I had more appropriate ingredients for that particular dish but I certainly didn't drop chilli flakes from my pantry and am a supporter of their contribution in many other meals in which they are used to the recipe's advantage!!

To be fair in our only 2 wins in the league this season he has made a difference as a sub, which was the point of the OP if I am not mistaken.

In both our last games, our equaliser has come directly from Ellis's knockdown in the box. In my opinion, he's growing into more of a target man than what he looked like he'd be when he first came through, but he's showing signs he's going to be very good at it. He's still only 22.

I thought Ellis had a very good game yesterday and is getting close to being a very handy striker.

Ellis needs to find consistency on the pitch. I like to think he is trying his best, but if youre up front you have to score more than 1 goal in 10 games.

IMO Ellis is getting better and better; great header yesterday for the first goal, we will need him on Tuesday against the blades.

I dont have the breakdown of stats to sub appearances without going into greater detail but in bis first two seasons as a pro Ellis made 42 appearances scoring 4 goals.
Since than he has made 83 appearances scoring 25.
Not sure what the conference stats are amongst those 83
I dont think that is too bad for ao young player wbo is clearly getting better and lets not forget had a horrible allegation hanging over him in that time.
Ellis is getting better as a target man option and has plenty of ability, it doesnt always click together at the same time but i think with his improvement and his ability you can see why he is getting the nod to start games more than he woyld have in the past few seasons

Still think you're creatively using statistics, how many of the 12 games he's played has he started. He's also for whatever reason been taken off penalties despite emphatically scoring everyone he's started, had he taken the three that Taylor and Easter have we could be looking at 6 in 12.

He isn't 'off' penalties, he was always behind Taylor. He wanted to take yesterdays, but Easter wouldn't let him. Not sure what the instructions were!

At Chelsea Taylor and Easter were on the pitch when we got one and Harrison took it. I feel like last season he took some when Taylor was also on the pitch...

As always it is all about individual opinions but I am afraid that given the amount of time he has had at the club I am not sure why he keeps falling down on the basics:
Close control on the ground
Lack of intelligence in the air with some of his headers
A sub standard football 'brain'
Ok he scored what was really a free header on Saturday but much of his play particularly in the first half was very poor imo re: hold ups / lay offs / control and vision
