A link popped up on twitter this morning for our academy website Can be found here, shocked me (in a good way), last time I looked at it, it was awful. I do not know who is responsible for it but well done.

it is, but Twitter feed from Academy annoyed me other day, congratulating current youth players on defecting the Academy and completing moves to Blackburn and Norwich. A ' best wished but disappointed these players didnt realise the opportunities for first team football and career development' would have been a more appropriate 'cherrio' imo

Looks a bit old and outdated to me, but at least it is not confusing like some websites out there.

Are all these people full time employees of the club?
I didn't realise there was such a large operation behind the scenes, must cost a bit.
It doubt whether it is really worth clubs like Rovers investing in a youth system anymore as the best youngsters will be plucked away for peanuts by a Prem or Championship side before they get anywhere near the first team.
I'd scrap it.

I am sure many of the staff are part time and fully expect that much of the cost is fed down from the FA & FL - absolutely vital a small club like the Gas produces it's own players , I have no objection to the better ones moving on for progression as long as the club benefits financially both now and later as the player develops.
I think Lockyer, Clarke, Santos, Mehews, Macey and quite a few others have found their way onwards and upwards after time with the Academy.
