What a farce this is. seeding all the big teams against smaller clubs. Odds stacked against anyone from div 1 or 2

Maybe I should have watched on tv Pat on the back for grasping what was going on so quickly! Some of the meltdown on twitter at the moment is hillarious, you'd think it was the sort of equation you'd get in a Cambridge entrance exam!

Its silly though. Why don't City go to Scunthorpe and the winner of our game go to Chelsea?
I understand its because of the seeding, but I'm failing to understand the reason for it.

I don't know whether City would rather be seeded and get on paper an easier tie or be unseeded and get a potential glamour tie; but either way whether they're seeded or not should be based on the criteria of which teams are seeded (presumably last season's league positions); and this shouldn't be effected by the fact us and Cardiff are playing after the draw. I have no idea why people are struggling to grasp this, the only way it could've been improved was by doing the draw this time tomorrow!

I am guessing that whether City were seeded or not also depended on the other results tonight. For example, if QPR had gone out, they'd have been seeded come what may (and someone else would be waiting to find out if they are going to Scunthorpe or Chelsea). It's thus a fluke that the two Bristol clubs are in this weird situation. It does add a bit of spice though...

I thought the league cup had been seeded for the past few years anyway.
But putting on a game on TV on the Thursday has just highlighted the stupidity of doing the draw before all the ties were completed given tge straight ko format
edit: confirming what I thought it has been seeded for over 10 years

Frankly it's bloody bizarre if you look at tennis they are always seeded but if the top seed goes out in the first round they don't then reseed the whole bloody draw. Absolute cobblers from an organisation fast becoming a joke. Who is there left to look after the football league clubs because it obviously isn't the Football League board.

The cup is now set up so all the lower leagues play the higher league teams. I guess this is to make it as hard as possible for a league 1 and 2 club to make it very far. It is a joke and the FA should take look at themselves, just a massive bunch of sellouts in hope for final with2 of the following - Man Utd Liverpool, Chelsea and man city, Arsenal.

I am just surprised that anyone is shocked by this and this should really give any floating possible attendees of the EFL cup yet another reason to boycott it IMO

But no seed has gone out, they just haven't played. OK I'll put it simply then. At Wimbledon they make the seedings before the competition not after the first round had completed. Of course the incompetents at the Football League couldn't even manage to do that after the first round and decided to do it during the first round. Little wonder they can't get anyone to sponsor their cup competitions, who would want their name associated with those farces.

Hopeful we can get a win tonight, will be the first one against Cardiff in Bristol since 1967 when James Sailor and Paul 'Pauly' Seagall scored in a 2-1 win over the Bluebirds.

Such is my disgust with the changed format and the FA Premier League and EFL I really would be 'happy' to lose and get back to normality of the league
Mind you that will soon change with the advent of Premier B teams in the football league in the shorter term
