We got a nice tent full of seats at the mem, maybe use that ?? We could use Eastville Park and put up temporary stands like Bath RFC....

What have Football League standards got to do with anything? Last time I'd checked The Hand wouldn't pass Conference grading.

There is terracing at the Bath End at Twerton Park. As for the toilet facilities - a few portaloos by the Innox Park gates, and you're sorted.
Presumably the League have no criteria as to the standards required for Santa's Grotto!

Twerton isn't fit for league football and doesn't have enough seats. We're not a league side.

But that assumes we get promoted at first attempt. I very much doubt that will happen so a non-issue.
Anyway, I doubt the UWE will happen anyway either so this whole thread could pretty much be a non-issue (hope I'm proved wrong though)

The New Lawn, home of Forest Green Rovers (Stroud) could be an excellent temporary home if it means saving the UWE project.
Bristol to Stroud is about 25 miles.

So, is the oft quoted condition that Sainsbury's can only commence building once the first game has been played in the UWE just an urban myth?

Crikey, am I really the only person who would crap their pants at the thought of letting Saisnburys build on the Mem whilst we "rent" somewhere else?

Most of the queries raised do not exist, and we would only be there for two years at most, so many of the points are irrelevant. Also, the league have already set the precedent. So there is no issue. Even CCTV is easily dealt. Whatever needs to be installed at Twerton can easily be removed and sent to the UWE. So that's no issue.
Can't be arsed to go through most of the items, but as I say, most are not relevant to Twerton.
The league certainly wouldn't want to put the dampers on a stadium of the calibre of UWE. As long as Twerton got through a H&S inspection it would be allowed.
As someone else said, both ends are terraced. They have been even w hen we were there, although not when we moved in. The league would just confirm what needed doing when the proposition is lodged with them. They then take into account how long we will need to be there. Just like last time. When we went there before we were given time to put things right as we didn't know an end date.

Didn't realise chewbacca was a football league grounds inspector. If he was, he would realise that clubs have to have certain minimum criteria and the rest must be done over a period of time.
There is no requirement to fulfil all requirements immediately. Just like FFP, you get time to adjust. This is exactly what happened last time.

Not alone Ash, how could anyone consider this ludicrous suggestion. Has a board member suggested starting this idea? Sounds like the sort of stunt they would pull. It would be the absolute end of what was once our club

Admission criteria to the league is... ...Computerised monitoring systems would have to be fitted on all turnstyles.... Since when did the mem have "Computerised monitoring systems would have to be fitted on all turnstyles. " ??
bloke with a empty cash box and pen more like it and when we get promoted back to the league will we have to have them fitted as well meet the above criteria ?? Had them since at least 2006...

Nothing would surprise me to be honest. I said something along the Twerton Park return a while back, but that was more tongue in cheek regarding the board but if the deal with Sainsburys has some room for them to `tweak` a contract in some way with reduced price for the Mem,then i can see it happening. Director loans being repaid coupled with Rovers finally cutting their cloth accordingly regarding wages and contyracts, could well mean a return to Twerton.

IF it happened i would not renew my season ticket, the thought of a 50-55 mile round trip again coupled with the crap stadium would cause me to choose what games i would go to, if any

Make ourselves homeless so that the directors clear their loan accounts and hope they still have the motivation to build a new stadium? You won't see some of them for dust.
