Im happy with afc Wimbledon tbh, let's win next week, have a party and see where it takes us It has to be said that I think all of us would have been delirious with play off at start of season. It goes to show how far we have come when we are feeling anticlimax to be in 4th place after a 1-4 win. It's nice to be flirting with the top of the league again I must say

Either one of Oxford or Accy will lose or draw next week and Rovers will win 2-0. No worries.

2 years ago we left Adams Pk in high spirits.
Things can change on the final day, we know that better than anybody.

Great performance and win today yet feeling frustrated that it's not in our own hands next week. You'd have to think its the play offs now which we all know is either a gut wrenching or phenomenal experience, there's no in-between. As Darryl has said... let's just enjoy the ride. COYB!!

Good result, team playing well, let's take that into the play offs. Anything else a bonus.

Of course I want to be promoted again, but looking at the bigger picture, the critical thing was promotion last year.
Today both Halifax and Kiddy have been relegated from the 5th tier, it seems that if you get stuck in that division it can be like quicksand. Torquay, Chester, Aldershot and Lincoln all finished in the bottom half of the division. It's a graveyard for ex-League clubs, and judging by the Wonga loan, it looked like Higgs had reached the end of the road for putting money in, you have to wonder if Wael would have been so tempted if we were stuck in the Conference / National League?
Looking forward to next week. Surely Wycombe can't carry on getting everything wrong, always, can they? Sooner or later they have to do something that helps us. Next Saturday as as good a time as any to start.

Nothing can go wrong now. That comment reminds me a bit too much of the moment every year when a character in one of the soaps says 'This is going to be the best Christmas EVER!'. You know, the moment about a week before someone torches the local boozer, said character discovers his wife in bed with his brother and his best mate is shot dead by a hitman armed with a bunch of loaded daffodils...

Imagine if Wycombe had drawn with Accrington today, we would all be jubilant dreaming of league 1 football next season, only to then go on and possibly get a crap draw with Dagenham and throw it all away. I agree 100% with DC in that we are chasing with nothing to lose, Wycombe are a classic mid-table team you never know what your going to get, they easily have the capability to get a draw at Oxford, even a poor team like Stevenage could frustrate Accrington and nick a point or even 3. Last season we only had one team to chase on that final day in Barnet, this season the chances are at least better, and if we are in the play-offs, confidence will be sky high to beat AFC Wimbledon over 2 legs.

Totally agree, anything will feel better than that mansfield feeling, just enjoy.

Just got back into South Dorset and read this thread. After today I don't feel any anti-climax. I know York were a poor side but no one is going to fancy playing us at the moment. I thought we were excellent today. I don't think Steve M had a save to make apart from crosses and a few through balls. Everyone played well and I know it's a squad game but I get the impression that DC now knows his best team and just like last season the team almost picks itself. We should have won 7 or 8-1 not 4-1. I was sat in main stand near where Wael was sitting and he was very happy! By the way was there a wind up merchant in at the gas end because there was a huge cheer or did someone just get the scores in the Accrington game muddled up? There was a great big cheer. Now we do need one of the others to slip up and I still think someone will but even if they don't we have had a great season and AFCW will not fancy playing us. UTG!

I think it would be great to have an Hollywood ending this year and get promoted in our final home game. It would be somewhat karmic in nature and would certainly balance out our Mansfield experience. I can't bear to think of getting to Wembley and going through that nervous feeling again.

Yep, one person must have uttered 'Wycombe scored' and it spread like wildfire. Utter devastation when it was confirmed as untrue. Kind of killed the mood in our end for the last ten mins!

I enjoyed York,a good day out and a good result. I think that Rovers are good enough to beat Wimbledon home and away. This season has already been better than the mid table position that I predicted, hopefully some good signings will be made in the summer.

A great day out, rovers played well, atmosphere a little flat at times but all in all a brilliant away day. Good old fashioned club and ground....pubs nearby, squeezed into seats, stinky toilets, away end no roof. Nice!
Points I observed: Why did lino in front of us (sat in stand) find his offside flag in second half? ...and miss some 'agricultural' challenges seemingly in front of him on our players?
What was the cheer in away end that spread across the fans? Cry wolf now for next week..
Again in the second half we relaxed and let them come on to us like Exeter did last week. Nothing to worry about with York, but a better finishing team would take advantage of this..
What was decisive (for me) was the introduction of Jake Gosling and Ellis. Gos thread the ball through for 3rd goal and his movement was unpickupable (is that a word?!) with his contributions. No offence to Lawrence, but Gos energy and cutting edge would have me favour him everytime over LL.
Montana played well first half. He kinda went awol when York had their sunny spell in second half. Definite improvement in form since start of season and goes to show how a run of games can improve confidence. If he had been a bit more devious, we could've had a pen as was checked in penalty area. He stayed on feet and ref played advantage..
Matttty, hope not serious.
One to go.....just never never know!

Wycombe 'equalised' but it was given offside at least according to someone next to me The atmosphere was flat at times and I've no idea why even when we were 2 or 3 nil up and it wasn't as if some of us weren't trying, it was damn hard to get anything going and when it did people only seemed half hearted about it. Anyway don't want this to be too negative, it was a superb performance with some extremely good passing and movement. Gos seems to have found his mojo plus bringing on Harrison and Easter just further improved the tempo. These cameo 20/30 minute performances from Easter over the last month or two have been crucial to some of our results. It's just wishful thinking now but I'm pretty sure if we'd put this team out against Stevenage we'd still be in third place, in fact we'd be in 2nd place because we'd have another two points and our goal difference is better than Stanley's. Bring on the Daggers, Stanley haven't won 3 games in a row all season plus Stevenage are in a good run of form and hopefully the local derby between Oxford v Wycombe will see them stubbornly resist their neighbourly rivals automatic promotion attempt One to go....you never know UTG !
