PS, Don't be a stuttering fool. Make use of the Obama long pause, instead of repeated um's Wear a red nose and big shoes in honour of box one. Maybe that can be our silent protest at the first home game. Clownfest

KP - one idea might be to focus on Rovers connections with other teams. Here's a few that spring to mind:
- Craig Disley: (former fans favourite) plays for Grimsby. - Craig Stanley: has just signed for Aldershot. - John Akinde: played on loan for us and now at Barnet. - Aaron Downes: at Torquay played 8 games on loan for Rovers. - Matt Glennon: goalkeepeer at Halifax, played one game on loan for Rovers between the sticks. - Dave Pipe: has just moved from Newport to FGR. - Martin Foyle: Manager at Southport, had a brief spell as First Team Coach at Rovers, under Dave Penney. - Lincoln City: evokes memories of the play-off games in our last promotion year in 2007. - Our 'local derby' with FGR will probably come up, especially if we get them at a prominent time, like Boxing Day, so maybe gen up a bit on them. Like you're looking forward to the Vegan Pasties!
There are probably loads more bits of trivia, and maybe other players and coaches with connections.

There are some lovely historical places to visit like Chester and Lincoln. There are some super seaside resorts to go to: Dover; Grimsby; Southport; Torquay. Southport replaces Fleetwood, which replaced Morecambe as our 'Blackpool' away day. There are lots of new and exciting places to explore, that we wouldn't have had a chance of doing had we still been a league club.

Tell them the fixtures are irrelevant as we are replacing Wycombe in the league!!
on a side note .. here's a post from a stockport fan offering advice about the step down to non league (from the non league forum)
"Yep, there is some really odd business goes on in the non league. Two years in and I am still bamboozled by games with no segregation, Minor cups, people wearing greedy league shirts in the grounds/parks, groundhopping days with stange fans arriving, strange intense rivalries including 50 trainspotters in remote backwaters, allotments, getting knocked out of the FA cup before it starts, opposition fans truly wanting you to have a good day, clubhouses, farmers fields (CBFC), competitive games against local non league sides, stands with 12 seats in them and North Ferriby United. Get ready to be hammered 6-0 off a team you have never heard of! A steep learning curve indeed!

KP any idea when the fixtures are being published as the Conference website states:-
The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later
Hopefully they are uploading the fixtures now unless the system's crashed?

General observation...more than half the clubs (13) are ex-football league ( some in a slightly different incarnation). Gonna be tuff!

Passionate, Polish, hot-headed and opinionated Rovers fan let loose in front of the TV cameras to tell the world what he thinks of our chances next season. What could possibly go wrong? (Just kidding, KP)

Scrap my original plan. Instead say. Why the F*&£ are a team as big as Rovers in this crappy division. We are a massive club and we are much too good for these small fry. We'll dominate every game and pack out every stadium. Watch out Braintree - here come the gas. Suarez should be coming to Rovers - were bigger than Barcelona! Oh well, your choice KP. ...I just wish I had a better knowledge of this damned league. don;t worry, by the time of your reaction to the 2018/19 fixtures you'll know this league like the inside of your palm knows your...

They just left. We had to go to other teams websites to get some of the fixtures and then they came up on our site around 20 minutes after everyone else. I was not doom and gloom. I says how loyal a bunch we were and that all we wanted were 11 players who show commitment to the shirt rather than journeymen who were with us for a pay check. They asked me about expectation and I said play offs at least and that I thought we should be genuinely looking at promotion if we can hold onto the back five we have now. I said we have to take every game seriously and be ready for a high tempo and more physical game. They asked about the crowds I expected and I said that if we get a decent start then I see no reason why we would not get 5000 as a base , I mentioned the faithful five thousand at Twerton. I mentioned ST sales had held up given relegation. I was not given a chance to mention the forum . Someone had definitely put the kybosh on that. They really looked a little nervous about the mention of our forum. I ended saying that if we get a team that give us their all that we would give them our all as we are some of the most loyal fans in the country. I hope I don't sound too much of a gimboid when it airs. He could not be specific on when it would go out but will know when he gets back to the studio. I'll let you guys know as soon as I find out. The reporters name is Damian Derrick
EDIT
They did not really allow me to go into other stuff. They wanted a general reaction to the first few fixtures mostly and how I thought that would pan out. We will see how it comes out after they edit. I kept away from anything controversial.

I sat all the way through Points West tonight. Hopefully they'll show the interview on Monday.
Well done KP. I'm sure they had strict instructions to keep you on track and even if you'd managed to veer off course they'd have edited out the bits they didn't want to include.

There must have been so many hours of editing I'll be surprised if there's 10 seconds of broadcast-worthy footage left. Dozens of cats attacking the crew, KP esconced in the hospitality tent, hours spent in a "challenging" job in makeup, and multiple re-takes because KP insists they haven't caught his "essence".
