Hi fellow Rovers fans,
I have been chosen by BBC points West to be filmed to get my reaction to the conference fixtures today. I am not bothered by a camera or interview but I know very little about our opposition so if you guys can give me a quick précis of the teams to look out for then I would be very grateful as I don't want to let our club & fans down. I guess I will have till around 2.30 to do a quick study Thanks in advance.

Forest Green obviously with their spending, throw Eastleigh into that mix. Gateshead reached the Playoff Final last season so should be in a good position, I also think Kiddie will be there or there abouts after a poor year last year. Grimsby & Halifax both got in the playoffs last year so can't be ruled out. Ex-League club Wrexham shouldn't really trouble the top end of the table this year.

Much appreciated Chewy, What away games will be high on the list ? I am just trying to get a feel for the ones that will be looked upon favourably. I know Turkey will always get a good attendance but I would guess Gateshead, FGR and any clubs in the London area would be well attended. Thanks mate. Keep it coming please good people as my lack of conference knowledge is embarrassing me here and I do t want to let our club down. If I have the chance then I'll mention BRISA and the forums. I will not be slagging anyone as I don't see the point on giving the she teds more ammunition.

KP - whatever you do. Make sure you don't come across as arrogant. I know you wouldn't try to, but you need to make sure you say something like. "We know the Conference is a tough division and there are a lot of quality teams. We'd love Rovers to go up first time around, but we are not underestimating the task"
Even if you think the division will be a cake walk, don't let anyone think we are arrogant about it.

You can rest assured I would not do that mucker. I don't feel that way in anycase and I know how much fuel it gave the she teds with the Barcelona of L2 stuff. No, I will be honest and will make a point of saying that I believe we will need to learn very quickly that this league is not to be taken dismissively. We will need to do a lot of hard work to do well for sure. I will not let the club down mate. You have my word on that

We have a right to be bullish about our chances and he is only a fan not the manager, we can and should be arrogant about our chances. How about something like "I know we are a big fish in a small pond but the board will do their best to make us look small time and balls promotion up."

I don't know enough about the playing styles of particular teams to help you on that, but I guess the other thing is that there are a lot of familiar teams, that we have played over recent years. I the order they finished last season, Grimsby, Kidderminster, Barnet, Lincoln, Macclesfield, (Wrexham), Aldershot and Chester have all been in the same league as us over the last 5 years - probably showing how difficult it is for some teams to get back out of the Conference. Some of the others are a step into the unknown for the Supporters, but Darrel Clarke will know all these teams well.

Why the F*&£ are a team as big as Rovers in this crappy division. We are a massive club and we are much too good for these small fry. We'll dominate every game and pack out every stadium. Watch out Braintree - here come the gas. Suarez should be coming to Rovers - were bigger than Barcelona! Oh well, your choice KP.

How about something like "I know we are a big fish in a small pond but the board will do their best to make us look small time and balls promotion up." I will stay clear of politicking with this. What they want is a reaction to the fixtures and how I think we will do plus they want to know which games will be of interest and who we see as real rivals. I can do my griping on here but I don't want to give the she teds and others any further ammunition. I am with you BTW on what you say but I don't think it'll do us anygood to be seen as fractured, though it's plain to see we are. I hope I do us proud. All things said & done, I am still very much a Rovers supporter. I would not even bother with forums if I didn't. Thanks Gents. All advice gratefully accepted

can someone record it and put it up on youtube please? I think it will be on points West tonight but I will make sure I know when it is being done and will get the Mrs to film it with her fancy kit too, that way we will get everything said and not just the edit that they will do.

I will stick with your original post Curly, I don't feel particularly proud of our club mate so you'll get none of that BS from me. I'll be honest without sticking it to the man. I'll be in for enough p155 taking by my mates anyway just for doing this. I don't know for one minute why they chose me lol. I am still wondering if it is an elaborate wind up as I have mates who are experts in that field . The reporter is Kosher, Damian Derrick. I've seen him at boxing a few times and reporting from our gaff and other football & Rugby teams. I just wish I had a better knowledge of this damned league.

Our Chairman comes across as a clueless, stuttering idiot in every interview he gives, I'm sure whatever happens it will be a 100% improvement on that. Being honest is also a novel idea.

KP, all you need is one line "Don't worry we weren't even relegated, as relegation wasn't an option" In all seriousness though, be fair and true which I know you will be and good luck!

How about "we can't be complacent. Thinking we were to big to be relegated is exactly the sort of thinking that got us here". Most people will know who that's pointed at.

KP - I know nothing about the Conference, but here's what you should mention:
1. We should have the biggest budget 2. We should have the biggest crowds 3. Our hoolies will tip the smaller grounds upside down and bring more shame on the club 4. We will score an average of 6 goals a game 5. We are all looking forward to the Forest Green Rovers derby 6. We are looking forward to being giant killers in the FA Cup 1st round 7. For the benefit of the 82ers, we will be seen as the Barcelona of the Conference 8. The building of the UWE in 2014/15 will mean we will have the "Wembley" of the Conference 9. We aren't going to be shot down by a load of ****-poor small clubs 10. We aren't Lincoln City
Bring on Braintree! I'm almost beginning to feel positive (thank god, I'm on holiday for the first game!).

Watched the highlights from most of Wokings games last season via the net. Hopefully with rovers out of the league it will be easier for me to view our highlights as well. Woking will be pushing for a playoff spot this season. They finished strongly, and have strengthened an already good team. They play a good brand of football and pass well in the final third. Where lesser teams would snatch at a shot they find the man in space with a better angle. One of the few teams to win at Luton last season. Before you ask I was a regular there for seven seasons while living in Surrey. Saw plenty of good Conference football, no difference really. Just harder to climb out of with only 2 up. Most Rovers fans will not be able to relax until our lack of goals has been addressed.
