1. When they thought that they had got a late equaliser, in the game that got us to Wembley, the last person in the ground by far to realise it had been disallowed, was a Notts County supporting Mick Hucknall look alike, who was stood not too far from the Rovers end. He was jumping up and down for ages before it sunk in. It was one of the funniest things I've seen at football. 2. Went there on the supporters coach for a night match (early 90's ?)and upon arriving at the ground, a policeman got on and told us the game was off. Although we hadn't seen a drop of rain all day, there had been a torrential downpour in Nottingham and the pitch was flooded. We didn't even get off the coach as it just turned round and came home.

Only went once in the eighties... Think we lost.
most recent trip to nottingham was Trent bridge... Winning the ashes.... All bl@@dy 29 minutes of it (or something similar). Never have I wanted england not to take quick wickets!!

I think much of the dislike was generated from various episodes over the years; Warnock who is/was a pillock, the disallowed goal for Notts, the throw-in they didn't give back.
Either way its about time we won there and their fans are seething at their new manager and board so might be a good time to play them, if we turn up!
DC - Please go there to win and play to our own strengths instead of trying to contain, as it hasn't worked in the last 3 away games. What's that good Rovers man done to upset them?

Hooters about 10 minute walk away mate and a big spoons 5 mins walk away by Trent Bridge. There's plenty of good ones in the City Centre, but that's a minimum of a 20 min walk away. Can't think of any others too near the ground other than the afore mentioned

I went a few times in the 70s,boring games and the ground a bit neglected, looking forward to seeing how it has changed. The journey up on one occasion was memorable and another time we stayed the night which was an eye opener, lets hope this time the game is the thing that I will remember. Was that in the back of a furniture lorry l worked on capital one for about 18 months 98/99 we had had some great times when the gas were in town also a few stag dos there were about 30 of us from Bristol but only 1 s**thead we told the locals we got a grant for employing him good times and having nothing but good things to say about the town and the locals

Twice pre redevelopment: - Early 90s. Long trip up the Fosse Way from Bath. - When they had the curved tin rooves down the side of the pitch, and away fans on the side (may have had a corner of the open Kop too). - I remember this lad got escorted round the pitch from the opposite side terrace, halfway through the first half, to a hero's welcome. I think he used to that a lot at away grounds - deliberately go in the home enclosure and see how long he could stay there before being turfed out.
Twice post redevelopment: - Away fans had the all-seater end, 'The Kop', at the time (now reserved for home fans). - The second visit was the famous throw-in game. I drove 4 others. They had plenty to drink on the way up and in The Trent Bridge Inn. I remember Jamie Shore bombing towards us, but think it might have been the Duke who scored. Anyway, the 4 others went crazy, and fell over the seats in front, in a heap, knocking over some poor chap like a domino. He then rolled down over at least 3 rows from the force - there wasn't much height from the back of the chair in front to stop you - I thought he wasn't going to stop. It was a bit like O.J. Simpson at the Baseball stadium in The Naked Gun. Extremely embarrassing for the sober driver : not much fun for the fan in front, who dragged himself back up over the rows, and must have been covered in cuts and bruises. At least one of the others bought him a cup of coffee. My profuse apologies (on behalf of my drunk friends) if you happen to be reading this.

Of course my fondest memory was Geoff Twentyman being scrupulously fouled in last few minutes (much to the disgust of Warnock) to deny a goal for them, and see us to Wembley for first time in our history. Grown men in tears of joy! The Magpies haven't forgotten it. The club tweeted this half an hour ago. Link to Best Ref Decision at Notts
