The e-mail I received about this new forum said we should keep the new url to ourselves for the time beng to avoid spurious registrations etc.
I understand that to some extent, but although we might get most old members migrated over (and there are still several hundred to do so) we might miss out on guest viewers and potential new members.
I know we don't want to be flooded on day 1 with red teds, but after a day or so, can't we start to publicise this on twooter, facebook, other forums, and any other way anyone can think of?
Maybe a naked waterslide down Park Steet by the Admins?

Over 300 have registered today. That over a third of the total number on the old site. Have already given the web address on twitter. No reason anyone else cant. Most of the frequent membership must be registered now

Yep - the new forum address is no longer a secret now that most of the regular posters have been migrated. Feel free to publicise to your hearts content - we're working on sending a mass email out to all members of the old forum to ensure that any stragglers are made aware.

Maybe a naked waterslide down Park Steet by the Admins? Believe me, that's not something you'd want to see. BTW: By not going public I was thinking more of a formal announcement on the old forum. We have now made that announcement so feel free to tell anyone who will listen about this forum.

Really good numbers viewing, already over 1300 guests recorded plus members, pity we can't get some of those guests signing up but they're obviously finding out about this forum from somewhere. Well done admin/mods an excellent start and thank you for all your time, effort and energy you give to running this forum notworthy

I have posted links to all the facebook groups that I am in, also spread the news on twitter. I honestly think that in just over 24hrs to get over 430 registered members is great news, also think that this new format is so much better than the old one (but I am a little biased).
