Oh well. I've given it a go, and I must say that it saddens me. The Rovers fan base really has become a bunch of negative doomsayers who diride anyone who doesn't agree. No one thinks the place we find ourselves in is anything other than a disaster. We all hope and pray that the UWE isn't dead in the water, but the truth is we don't know. We all wish we were still in league 2 or higher, but we're not. We all wish players were queueing up to join us from the Championship with their only wish being to drag us up to that level with skillfull fully comitted performances, and waiving thier normal wages, but they're not. The rose tinters aren't the devils in carnate dragging the club down. None of us are. We are all entitled to our opinions, I was just tired of the constant moaning. Some however seem to thrive and feed on it, like some dark entity from Dr Who or Star Trek. I hope Rovers do well next season, but some will always find fault. Just don't take it out on each other. I really can't stand it any more , and I'm taking you all with me.............BANG! The negativity is trickle down effect from the top. Where is the review? the leadership? the action? the plan? the improved structure? No action=negativity and you accuse me of being naive!! Did you really think that any review would be discussed in the public arena which would have led to possible spats and fall outs. Look what happened when Geoff Dunford let go one or two tweets that showed division in the board room. There is a saying that you dont wash your dirty linen in public. Nick Higgs has without doubt been the biggest single financial loser following Rovers relegation - do you really think that he is just going to allow the decline to continue so that he has to throw more money at Rovers. I am not suggesting that they will get it right but you are being naive if you think that there has been no action

For me the obsessive negativity by some on here re all things Bristol Rovers and especially those that make out they know oh so much about what had happened or is going to happen - laughable cringeworthy and embarrassing. I agree with KP what we miss most is the togetherness of the fans even if it was tribal... We fought like our team .. Always the underdog but it instilled pride and passion... If you think about it regardless of our current situation it mirrors the adversity we have previously suffered in many ways ... The fires / Having to leave Eastville for Ashton and then Twerton .., a tip of a ground and training out of a portacabin at Frys .. Nearly going out of existence ...But we survived and why, because the fans and the club united to fight the world through dignity and pride with a rag bag team of nobodies of which some came from the non league which had a far bigger gulf to division 4 than the Conference does now to L2. There are so many parallels now to those days but the fans are not united as then. And what saddens me most is I suspect a lot of the most negative posters on here are actually from those eras. Come on guys .., we go again after all there were many splits in the board in those days aswell but we still rode the storm and got on with what we did best .., support the club with passion and fevor...I so remember the derbies at Twerton .. View them again on YouTube guys ... See what you created in adversity and come on lets go again... After all it isn't hard as we are actually bloody good at it - let's never ever forget our roots

"Get back in the dark where you belong" - I can here the cries from the boardroom now.

I am an optimist, unrepentant and militant. After all, in order not to be a fool an optimist must know how sad a place the world can be. It is only the pessimist who finds this out anew every day. Peter Ustinov It is far better to grasp the universe as it really is than to persist in delusion, however satisfying and reassuring. - Carl Sagan Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. - Einstein Pessimist: One who, when he has the choice of two evils, chooses both. Oscar Wilde Go again Daddy! Go Again !!!!!!!! Or we could just call it a day

Come on now Henbury...you know he won't tell you that....you haven't got the "football intelligence" to understand what he would say, see? Correct, dildo. Didn't Chairman Higgs "rubbish" Henbury's forum lies before anyway? Sorry you lost this argument as soon as you start calling posters names

Here's my view. I really think all you optimists and pessimists put 21 July in your diaries - DONT MAKE ANY EXCUSES and go along to the event and listen to the questions and answers and make a fresh/up -to-date decision on if you think the club has put its house in order and looks ready to take the club back up the leagues. I'm going to ask lots of questions and follow -up questions - I want to hear the details / the reasons/ the excuses /the ideas and then I will know where I stand on the present and future prospects of my club !

If you get in that is! I'll be applying no doubt but I'm not too confident about getting a place in the room itself, especially if its open to all supporters.

Gashead, I am sure you will be able to go. 150 places available. At the SC EGM 118 attended, at our two meetings at The Wellie we've probably had about 80 -90 different people. Being high summer , some will be away and others who might have thought about going are probably thinking only of going to games. I sincerely hope it will be full so the board will see that things have really reached a tipping point and that they need to pull out all the stops to convince us that they are worthy of leading our once great club forwards.
See you there !

See you there ! Hope so. Was always my plan to attend the Q&A in July as a season ticket holder but to be honest I thought some of the negativity would be disappearing by this point - however it still seems quite prominent! Very important evening for those who are addressing the fans and answering questions, because the EGM (only going by the Twitter stuff) seemed a bit of a disaster.
