there are a group of posters on here who are relentlessly negative on every subject relating to rovers, most of these wont engage in a discussion if you have a different point of view,,im sure the same types are on man citys or any other clubs forums. its also occured to me that if they say anything positive they will love face or in there mind be backing down,i think most rovers fans are pleased that weve made some new signings and will give them every chance to express themselves and perform,

That's right. Moaning for the sake of moaning. Can't see any genuine reason why anyone would be upset myself.

Am I considered one of these constantly negative moaners? I certainly don't see any cause for optimism at Rovers right now. I am more than happy to debate with anyone. I respect all Rovers fans- there is simply no such thing as a glory hunting Rovers fan (or **** fan for that matter). I play the ball, not the man, and am quite happy to debate reasonably with anyone on here.
So here goes- BRFC will never recover from it's ongoing decline as long as Higgs, Bradshaw and Dunford control the club.
Now, whos going to show me where I'm wrong?

i understand our utter failure last season but cant get my head around people slagging off new players before weve even seen them play? weve got 5 in dc says more are coming so there is room for some optimism,,,even if people detest the board give dc and the squad a chance.

New signings who want to see the reaction of their new fan base probably do and so what kind of first impression does it give if the first thing they read about themesleves is being slagged off by fans who have never seen them play .

Oh, just one more thing...... I don't know if I really like the phrase 'rose tinters'. Its as if anyone who says anything positive, or is at least willing to see what happens to players they don't know, in a set up we haven't seen yet, in a league we've never played in, against teams we've never played in their present form, is somehow an apologist for our useless board and some sort of traitor to the cause and, it seems at the very heart of our failure as a football club. I'm not, and never will be an apologist for the board. They have very nearly completely destroyed the club I have supported since a boy. A part of my life I look back on with longing, since being dragged away from Bristol at the age if nine to live among heathen non believers in Sussex. Something I desperately wanted to hang on to as a reminder of where I think I belong. Don't diss me with a throw away categorisation. Perhaps it seems rose tinter is used to designate those who love the club less. I find this hurtful. We are all gas. Back the team, sack the board. Rant over. (Probably)

(Probably) if some people are indeed classed as "rose tinted" then conversely some will deserve the title of being " doom merchants " -the Private Frazers of the BRFC Forum.

It works both ways. If supporters can't comment on players until they've seen them play, then neither can players form an impression of supporters until they've played in front of them. On top of which, no player should read forums imo. There's nothing for them to gain from it - more likely the opposite.

I think some people forget that everything posted here is fully in the public domain and can be read by anybody. I believe there is a difference between fans slagging off players they haven't seen based on statistics, and players thinking the worst of fans based on online forum posts. As mentioned previously statistics can be misleading, especially ones collected from non league football. All it takes is a few matches out of position and the number of assists for example can be much lower, lets not write these lads off before we've seen them kick a ball wearing the same kit. Players can play very differently depending on who's around them, and who's organised the squad. Some fans are seriously downhearted because we have signed conference players, well unfortunately due to budgeting and the fact we are now a conference team we don't have any choice. One thing's for sure, complaining about it on a forum isn't going to make them any better. Whereas it is unlikely that players read these forums, it is human nature for people to want to know what others are saying about them. So don't be surprised if some of them do browse these sites.
It has long been known that forums are generally not positive places; health forums will tell you you're dying from whatever symptoms you post, car forums will always tell you your cars going to blow up and cost thousands when really you've just got a blowing exhaust etc etc. The reason for this is when something positive happens people are out celebrating, not posting about it online. When something negative happens (relegation for example) there is nothing else to do but moan about it to others, which is what is happening here. We've suffered the worst fate that a football club can suffer and have had nothing to take our minds away from it thanks to the summer break, we should have had the World Cup but the less said about that the better!
I understand the fans who have watched Rovers for years and can't take watching them in the conference under this BoD, I also understand the fans who don't want to continue funding this club through ticket purchases etc. However there are a decent number of fans who still do want to watch the team play, I am one of those for sure. When a club like ours drops out of the league people always mention Halifax & Stockport, but what about the clubs who have made it straight back up? For every Grey cloud there is a patch of Blue sky. We will be back, people just need to see some positive football from us before they'll believe it. One thing's for sure, no matter where we are we're 'Better dead than Red'.

Cheap Beach towels, mini scarves, car boot sale, glamour pre-season tie against Coventry and all those new grounds to visit! Ungrateful b'stards.

What a ridiculous thread.
People are negative? No s**t sherlock. We've just been relegated to non-league, are signing some very average players, got a weakened back room staff, a leader that failed as assistant and failed in the final 8 games as manager then cried, no scouts, board review non-existent, same directors, millions in debt and stadium plans close to collapse.
