Is it just me, or are others fed up to the back teeth with the almost unceasing negativity from some posters? Really, enough is enough! If we signed jack Wilshire there would be people on here complaining about his injury record. If we signed Luke Shaw they would be complaining about his lack of years. I fully appreciate the last few years have been bloody awful. We all suffered, we're all gas through and through I hope, but ffs, let's give the squad a chance to kick the bloody ball once before we write the season off. I'm no rose tinter, but I'm not clinically depressed and suicidal either. Stop it, or at least temper it until the season starts.

Glad someone else said what I have been thinking...I am looking forward to the friendly at Twerton to see how the new signings and established players start to gel.

Absolutely .. Seems some have now just moved from the BOD to the players .. Sure it will soon be the Board players and DC. I do wonder what they will find next if we start well !!

This post isn't going to get to get us out of the conference; I'm totally underwhelmed. 0 goals and 0 assists. This post was a terrible signing. Old negative posts - would you have them back?

I suspect that there are people on this forum willing the new team to fail so they can say " I told you we were rubbish ....we havent finished dropping yet....etc etc" The irony is that the fans at the Mem are a very tolerant lot and considering the bilge we have been served over the years there has been very little backlash. These forums are not at all representative of the Bristol Rovers fans who stand on the terrace week in and week out and who have good reason to moan but instead will turn up on the first day of next season hoping at last that we will have something to make us proud to be gasheads.

I have not been using this board much, as when I start reading all of the threads tend to turn into the same old moaning session, I think the opening statement is very good and I agree whole heartedly.
I am looking forward ti seeing this years new kit anyone else?

Whilst the old OF use to have it's rose tinters who could see no wrong at least it had a balance to it, but the doom merchants on this forum just make you feel depressed, it does make you wonder what lives they live away from the forum, noy very happy ones by the look of their posts.
We all agreed we'd had enough of old journey men taking the club for a ride but know DC's signed a number of young players posters are moaning why hasn't he signed Constable or Pipe(!).
DC seems to be building a reasonably balanced squad, I've no complaints so far, if he can retain the back 5 and Brunt returns fully fit we potentially have a decent first team.

I think there is a myth that we have good fans.
Generally I would say we have more moany fans than not. Our support overrates itself.
we have racists who get away with it. We have hooligans/yobs who hardly ever get condemned let alone ejected.
At home we have negative shouts constantly at our own players.
Obviously I'm not referring to everyone but many of our fans are an embarrassing disgrace......maybe we have the club they deserve cos we let this happen.

I doubt that any gashead would really want that. I must admit though the last few days some posts have been rather bleak / negative, however that is what a forum does; it allows both sides to air their views. I honestly think this forum has already come along way and changed a lot from the old forum. There are a lot of very good new posters which have helped balance the forum a bit, hopefully more will get involved and it will be even better. I put it down to delayed shock! suddenly we are not after lower league players we have seen / heard off we are after young hungry non league players....... DAMN! forgot again!

I pledge not to write anything negative from now on which will mean accepting what had happened to the club I've supported since 1977.
If you can accept (& look forward) to being a non-league club playing at **** grounds in front of 1,000 fans then good luck to you!
I for one am still mightily angry that the football club were arrogant enough to think relegation wouldn't happen and that we didn't even have a plan if it did!
The players responsible for our demise are all but gone, and been replaced by mid-table non-league players! My expectations and excitement levels are now non-existant.
I hope Rovers are successful next season and regain their spot in the Football League. I won't be at the Play-Off or FA Trophy finals!!!

Agree 100%. The anti everything stance taken by some posters is beyond boring now.
It is best just to ignore and not comment on any negative post (unless you happen to agree).
By commenting you are just encouraging more negative posts.

I agree with the sentimemt about letting the new Conference level squad prove itself before being overly critical about any individual player who has just joined, and most fans know nothing about for the obvious reason that as a Conference player we have probably never seen him play. But my opinion is that a lot of this is driven by the lack of communication from the club to the fans since relegation, apart from the SC Egm, which appears to have been another PR disaster. The lack of leadership being displayed is quite incredible, some of the comments eminating from the BoD beyond belief. And, as another poster had already shown, all this on the back of four quite terrible seasons. So, its all very well turning a blind eye to all this and hoping, in another act of blind faith, that this coming season will be any different from the last four when in fact there is absolutely no evidence that it will be. The same people who crashed the car still have the car keys. It would be wrong, in my opinion, to not maintain the pressure on the BoD, unless of course you believe that all of this had nothing to do with them.

Maybe the 1999- 2000 one with Roberts, Cureton, Penrice, Walters et al ? that nearly took us into The Championship ? Indeed A promotion denied by the fact that one crucial midfield player was not replaced after breaking his leg, which led to discontent in the squad as key players then came to the conclusion that this club was going nowhere and wanted out.
