The "early days", Angas? There were plenty of people on here, up until a couple of weeks ago, giving Taylor all kinds of stick. there are STILL one or two who will not give him due credit.. In fairness, from the bits of radio commentary I manage to hear, I'm only just getting to the stage where I expect him to score rather than miss. Seems like he's cracked it now though and long may it last.

Poor first half, sorted out the central midfield at half time and the 2nd most horribleist team in the League didn't get a look in, we totally dominated the 2nd half. Well done to the manager, he got the midfield sorted at half time. Well done to all of the players, Parkes was very good, but obviously Matty Taylor was the star man. Goal 1, lovely clean strike, 2, quick thinking and no-nonsense finish, 3, comical defending but that's not his fault, whilst 2 defenders messed around he took full advantage. Hope their supporters have a miserable journey home. Did anybody have a clear view of that header, it looked well over the line when their keeper scooped it back out? It looked like the keeper kept it out on the line to me, but I wouldn't be surprised if replays prove otherwise.

Also worth mentioning a tackle in the 2nd half, couldn't see clearly who it was, because of the pace needed to get back to their attacker and win the ball I can only assume it was Lockyer, he did something very similar against Stevenage. Scouts will be watching that young man.
Hard to remember, but I think that was at 0-0.

Where is that Wycum fan who was on here a few weeks ago?
Went as quiet as their fans here tonight in second half....seen and not heard, that's the way we like it!
Agree with scrappy first half.
Ollie had decent shot that produced a good save. Matty gathering and spraying the ball was brilliant in both halves.
Leads engine of the right and always found space to run with great control. Must say that because on his replacement, Bodin clicked into place and it was like a football catalyst where we looked awesome.
That's twice now this season, Cheats have been made to look mediocre by our free flowing football and attacking endeavour.
Well done all the team, a hard working up tempo saw us easily home.
It's a joy to watch a 3-5-2 switch and become more effective as we have a few options with exciting players that can add a balance.
Well done DC for making crucial sub as Bodin def affected the game on the left (I'm so glad we got him til end of season, which could be and of May on our second half performance!)
Excellent performance, well done everyone..

That was a superb second half, pure brilliance from Matty Taylor. Good luck at your next club in January Matty, lets hope everyone can now enjoy watching you for your final few games with us.
Hmm, hopefully not too late for us, the crowd at last chanting his name with gusto, might still make him feel he can become a hero with us, as with other goal scorers who had a slow start (remember Jason Roberts finishing started off appallingly) Matty missed a few too many, but he is a very good player, and improving. The new mobile target man will only help.

For the first time in my life, I agree with something you`ve written. If Taylor does go in January, ( as I suspect he will ), all the people on here who queued up to criticise him, can get used to watching Easter having a go at doing what Taylor does now. Let`s hope it makes them happy.

First half was OK. They hit the upright, but we looked better than them. What a difference it makes having a centre forward. Gaffney was a great front man, won the ball, got it back, chased and harried and even had a couple of (weak) shots. This is the guy who made it easier for the others to play - especially of course MT. His hat-trick was fantastic, but I think Gaffney deserves a lot of credit for giving their defence a problems all night. UTG.

One of my customers works for Cardiff Youth Dept and told me during the week

Told you a scout would be there, or told you Matty was going?

The only question which remained was by just how many the home side would win by. The away fans prayed for rain, lightning, even a plague of locusts but they remained unanswered.
Where's the safety officer when you need him?

Ainsworth was acting the absolute to$$er last night. All over the fourth for the first 45mins & his two little helpers antagonising the East Terrace crowd.
Didn't see them turning round having a gawp & a pop after the hour mind! Lovelyyyyy.
