Winkers indeed... and love their home comforts as well looking at those away stats...

Just another game to me as well, but interesting to read their fans take on it. Upset with us because the ref disallowed a goal.
Pleased with themselves that they didn't do the sporting thing by throwing back to us when we put the ball out for one of their injured players.
Absolutely hated Warnock for that - but even that has mellowed with age.

Not really bothered about Notts, but the 3 points are welcome against anybody.

Must all be close relatives of the sh*theads Funny thing is I know the sh*theads hate them as well - always refer to Notts as cheats but can't think of what the reason is or what game it relates to?

The oldest club in the league. My best mate and his son are County fans - so all I'm after is bragging rights !

I understand what people are saying about Neil Warnock and the things he said about us in 1990. We were top we were better we went and beat them away in April, I think. Yet he still said they were better. It's a long time ago now and the only people who like Warnock are the followers of whatever current team he is managing. I've got over it now! And in a sense I don't mind Notts Co after all I suspect being in a 2 club city where they are usually lower than Forest they have to put up with the same stick that we have to in Bristol. So I guess we have a certain affinity. Tomorrow all I want is the 3 points to push us up the table. UTG!!

Been up their place a few times, never seen us win. Don't really care more or less than any other club in tier 4 (see below)
The sh*t (tier one hatred) Swindon, Oxford (tier 2 hate) Wycombe, Yeovile, Newport (tier 3 dislike) Everyone else (tier 4)

Are there any clubs we actually like? (Not as an away venue, but the side itself.)

Personally I don't have the energy to hate more than one club. Especially over poor refereeing. Do we hate Oxford now too?

Still, at least we haven't been duped by a serial con-man promising us a billion quid and then emptying our bank accounts Yet.

Worked in Nottingham for about 18 months in the nineties always had come good banter with both forest and county fans the latter never really mentioned the disallowed goal but then they were a bit sheepish as we had several of forest s top boys working for us I'll never forget the hiding 8 of us got but when we went up to celebrate our mate leaving his job in Nottingham, to be based back in Bristol. We had a cracking Saturday night and ended up in the now obligatory kebab shop. We were quickly surrounded with around 20 mixed race and Black guys, with knives, who set about us very methodically. One even jumped over the counter and used to kebab cutting knife. 4 got stabbed and Shaun Street, ironically now a copper, had his nose chopped through and was dangling off of his face as if Concordes nose was in the landing position. Never seen so much claret in my life. 3 got mugged for jackets and money. I've never felt so impotent and angry at the same time. I had just turned and had a guy stick a knife to my throat and was piercing my neck, he said if I moved, he would run through my neck. I saw how they were cutting the others and knew he meant it. I was thinking of trying to grab his hand, to turn it against him, but I just lost my bottle. I still feel ashamed of that night Dave. I never knew Nottingham had such a large Black and ethnic population and, to be honest, we were giving it the big un but not to be cut like that. I hate Nottingham for that and always will but I can't hate country for this long. I wanted to go back to the kebab house th next day but, as I was the only one relatively unscathed you can imagine their reticence. My plan was to grab the kebab shop owner and get him to show us where the mob lived and then run them over. Crazy times mate. If honest, I was never the same after that and have always checked out people and places, wherever I go now. Sorry to the OP for digressing but it is still Nottingham.

If there is one thing, just the one thing, that I have learned from being seriously ill and ageing, is that keeping ANY anger or resentment inside of you will always hurt you. Many never learn this at all and so I guess I am grateful that there are some positives to come out of a crappy situation. It took me much longer than most to mature and some would argue that I still haven't lol. When you think of just some of the truly awful things that go on around us, you have to realise that this is just petty but I won't put anyone down for it as it's all relative and some just have to learn the hard way, just as I have. I do understand that the club means everything to so many and it was that way for me too & I cried when we won V Grimsby, at Wembley but I have to keep things in perspective and that is the reason why I just can't allow myself to hate, as others do. Having said all that, my feeling about our chairman are well known

After the way their fans backed their club, through the non league period and at Wembley, I can't help but feel some affection for them & I now look out for their results, after ours. That club, like ours, has great support and they deserve better. FAO JeffNZ oxongas and all mods. Could you please merge this thread with the other one, on the same topic please ?

If he was managing the club that you supported then you would probably think that he was doing a good job for you. But if you were an opposition supporter then you would probably be of a different opinion. The fact is that he has had some success as a manager, but is invariably sacked. That says something to me, as does the fact that he doesn't stay at one club for too long. He is unnecessarily abrasive and provocotive (something that I think Gerry Francis plus a whole host of managers, players and referees would agree with), and he has shown this trait on TV when acting as a pundit. But then again he always seems to be in demand by one club or another. I see that he was appointed as a first team advisor by QPR (one of his former clubs) recently, a club that has previously sacked him as manager. Hopefully he won't be asked to give any TV interviews, and will keep his opinions to himself.

Agree with Grimsby comment - I was even slightly jealous of the racket their 14,000 or so made compared to our support -mind you, take away all the relatives of real fans, part-timers etc we would have made as much noise....
