The sentences for everything have got shorter since the 60's, (a) to keep the cost of prisons down (b) too many whinging hearts; do gooders; loonie lefties and human rights lawyers

Definite penalty but not IMO a sending off as the keeper made a genuine attempt to win the ball .Some refs would have given a red but overall i thought the referee was pretty good. Add to that Harrison was going away from the goal and a defender was behind the keep at the point the foul was made. Spot on decision by the ref and a just result with the equaliser.

So it's not alright to take your own retribution if you disagree with the sentence Of course it isn't, but McCormick has chosen to go back to football and he knows that the barracking is part and parcel of that. If it offends him, I have no sympathy whatsoever.

it wasnt luke mccormacks fault that the sentence was too lenient,,i read about the incident after seeing the comments on this thread and the case is very shocking,,no insurance for a championship keeper??[then] and drunk. i still believe that he like say david pipe has served his sentence and has a right to return to his job but i understand people who dont think that and respect that opinion

If it offends him, I have no sympathy whatsoever. Well I'm glad there was no embarrassing barracking from our fans.......

The maximum sentence for Causing Death by Dangerous Driving being increased in 2004. McCormick was sentenced to 7 years & 4 months, which is hardly a lenient sentence for this type of offence.

He went to prison and served his sentence, that is justice. Personally I am grateful that we have a criminal justice system that operates like this, rather than some of the more barbaric options that continue in some parts of the world. Hahahahaha that is bollocks, he's back playing football and driving about on the road after a few years in a cushy prison whilst the family he tore apart are still having to cope with losing their children. If you think that's justice you're disgusting! What's funny about the situation? His life is hardly going to be the same again, let's be honest. Despite being guilty of utter stupidity and wreckless behaviour, he didn't set out to end the lives of two children that morning. His reaction, which can be seen on CCTV, says it all.

The consequences of the crime he committed are simply awful. However, I would imagine that there are a fair few people that have (or still do) have a skin full of booze before driving on just a few hours sleep, yet are happy to judge him. In my opinion, if you ever put yourself in that situation you are just as guilty as someone like Luke McCormick. And on the main topic. Nailed on pen, never a red. Right decision IMO. UTG

Do I condone McCormack's behaviour when he committed his offence? Of course not. Do I have any sympathy for him? No. But the behaviour of a number of Rovers ' fans ' towards him on Saturday was disgraceful on a basic, human level. The very same people who abused him all game, had no qualms about repeatedly screaming ' f***ing, murdering, c**t ' at him throughout the 2nd half in front of young children who were at the game and who would probably have been much the same age as those about whom they were being so sanctimonious.
Embarrassing, and I, for one, was ashamed to be amongst these so called ' Rovers supporters ' on Saturday.

I'm struggling to equate swearing in front of children with drunkenly smashing a car into them and killing them, to be honest. Perhaps I'm odd.

It was a penalty but not a red.
Regarding the situation Luke McCormick finds himself in, well it was his choice to go back to playing. His choice to pick up a wage from football again. He knew what he was getting himself in for. He made that choice. He deserves the stick he gets and has no right to moan about it. To my knowledge he hasn't done on record.

Hey any foul on Ellis at any time should be a straight red card.
He's our only goal scoring opportunity !

And I suspect these are the same people who applauded David Pipe when lining up against us. Football doesn't half attract some classy individuals.

But would you rather get pissed up, go off to a hotel with a stranger who says he is a footballer, have sex with him, and then have someone else join in which you don't want OR do you want to lose you family in a preventable car accident? That is the point.
