Like i said I've tried not to clog up the Mansell thread with guff about myself (boring), so in response to forumer 'intheknow' "There is no way Wes can have watched even half of the players he links on here in the flesh ( unless he travels 100,000 plus miles a season seven days a week)." Of course not! I watched Kieffer Moore in his 2nd (or 3rd?) game for Truro against W-s-M when he scored a diving header and generally bullied the centre backs, which i mentioned on a thread about Truro finances on the old forum and later on this thread too: z13.invisionfree.com/Bristol_Rovers_Alt/index.php?s=ab3c9c2d129db478f3f5afe838bdce81&showtopic=189&st=0I tried tipping the club off (Paul Molesworth) about Charlie Austin with no response, after first hearing about his exploits through various sources. I then contacted padstowgas on the forum (who claimed to be a scout) who said he would later pass the tip off directly to Paul Trollope at the fun/open day, as I couldn't make it that year. If padstowgas is to be believed (which I wouldn't doubt) he told Trolls and he said he would "take a look." You don't have to have even seen a player sometimes to know they are at least worth scouting, or even inviting for a trial: www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/9935727.Football__Howe_spotted_star_striker_Austin_in_the_Daily_Echo/?ref=rssWES yes i still scout and can confirm that i spoke to Trollope about Austin and he told me i didnt know what i was talking about,i called him a pratt and walked away I don't blame you, fair enough. Hope you're all good pal.

Still expect him to make it at a decent level though.

Just think, we could've been watching this instead of Chris Beardsley...

I have read quite a lot of your posts GasheadWes and find that you talk a lot of sense. No doubt there is a lot of untapped talent out there- teams like Bournemouth and Peterborough have been doing it to great effect for a number of years and at a much higher level than Rovers. People had not heard of Nigel Martyn, Devon White, Ian Alexander or Andy Reece before we took a punt on them. Similarly Hayles and Foster. Add the great Geoff Bradford, Gary Penrice, Paul Randall, Dave Pritchard, Archie Stephens, Phil Purnell and many others to that list. Wade Elliott on Bournemouth: “By the time I had signed for Bournemouth, I had played around 150 games in men’s football. It wasn’t Football League standard but it was a decent level and was a tough league. Lads my age who had come through the ranks at Bournemouth had probably played 20-odd reserve games in two years. I think my grounding made me ready for the first team. I could step straight in to playing Saturday-Tuesday.” He went on... "I have always felt I am making up for lost time and have never wasted a minute of my career. I hate missing games and training and want to get as much from my career as possible. Part of that is down to coming into the game quite late. I am not the only one who has done that from starting at Bournemouth. More than most clubs, they have had a lot of joy out of non-league in the past few years. Fortunately for me and other players, the club has seen it as a good route for them to pursue.”

Take care Gasheads...it's been nice interacting with some of you. Even though I haven't met the vast majority of those forumers, I feel as though I know some of you personally.
I hope you enjoy a happy and successful season, one that as gasheads, we all hope and pray for.
All the best. Peace and Love. x

To be honest I do not care where you get them from, all I know is that some of the clips you have highlighted have been the topics of some great football debate in the pub on a Sunday night (normally my night off and would sit with four or five mates, one STFC one OUFC). Things look bleak but we are the Gas family, not the Bod, not the staff, not even the players, but US!

You put up your shouts for players you think we should sign which is fair enough . You've received a lot of acclaim from a lot of posters but a few of us have questioned your methods. If you post your player choices you've gotta accept the good and the bad because you're putting yourself up there to be shot at. UTG

"So would you not be prepared to take up a voluntary scouting role for BRFC that would involve travel and live games?"
I take that as a no then, under present circumstances...?
The signature of a 70s Porn Star from a club on the verge of extinction, the debut verbose prose of a budding 17-year scout (or should that be cub) that no-one has heard of and the public resignation of our resident forum soccer scout.
Wow! What a ride! WHAT A RIDE!

Is it from years ago? I thought it was mostly just new arrivals throwing their weight around.

Sorry but this new and old stuff does not really help at all. It's bad enough the club seems to want to divide us without us helping them! I was hoping that when we moved to this format with everybody starting on zero posts that things like this would not happen.
When we were using the old model for this forum, we (admin) were getting at least one report a week about posts! since moving to this model we have had hardly any!
Come on! we are all gasheads and lets show the club they were wrong to suspend/ban accounts and close the official forum down, lets show them that we can do things properly.

Yes, apologies for that Oxon. It seems to be unfamiliar user names, so to me it's logical to assume they're from the OF. Maybe they've just changed names to match this new forum but I don't recall so much venom being directed towards Wes on the IF, and certainly not from so many. Maybe it's my memory failing me again.
