What did he say ? I heard most of it but was in the coach so missed a bit due to the singing in the way back If you haven't caught it yet, it starts on 43 minutes. Well worth a listen. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02yg2ydThanks AG. Much appreciated

Saw it on the Football League Show. If a player goes into a tackle with his foot at shoulder height its dangerous play - end of story. It also looked to me as if he had both feet off the ground as he went to the tackle. We rightly criticise referees that let violent play go unpunished, so well done this ref for getting it right, and for not bottling it in front of a ground full of angry 'teds.

What an arrogant and nasty man Cotterill is. It's bad enough to be a sore loser but I can understand that as I hate losing but to be so hostile to a local reporter just makes it worse for him and will, no doubt, see the reporter be reticent to give decent airtime after that. I will never understand how a grown man can act this way. He will need all the help he can get this season and the media can be a big ally in this respect. I read a lot about Cotterill from the Nottingham Forest forum and he had no one praising him but had a lot of vitriolic comment about him. It does seem that he loses his rag very easily and I can see him surpassing Sean O'Driscoll in the near future. The comment about the finances available to him will not have gone unoticed either. If only we had the finances that he has available to him. I can see it turning nasty for him very quickly if the team don't register a win very soon.

Well worth a listen. www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p02yg2ydThanks for the link Ann, much appreciated. I've just had the opportunity to sit down and listen to the interview in detail, and this thread is correctly titled Steve Cotterill: Comedy Gold. The man is (and always has been throughout his managerial career), an utter embarrassment to himself and the club that currently employs him, when under any kind of pressure. And to resort to throwing his toys out of the pram when asked a couple of perfectly legitimate questions, really does say all that needs to be said about him. I wonder if Jon Lansdown found it necessary to call him into his office after training today, for a word in his shell-like.

Do you know some of their fans have openly threatened some of ours for putting up links and commenting on them ? One has gone as far as making a veiled threat at DC. When you think they couldn't get any worse they do just that. Fragile souls eh. Pathetic stuff

When you think they couldn't get any worse they do just that. Fragile souls eh. Pathetic stuff That doesn't come as a surprise KP, there have been lots of changes in the past 4 decades i've watched footy but that lot haven't changed one bit. When it comes to losing and having to face a b it of banter back from their rivals you can take your pick, threats, spitting, large groups on to one, arson, the list goes on. No matter how far Higgs takes us down it would never make me come close to regretting making that red or blue decision after moving to Bristol in the 70's. The mindset in BS3 seems to be widely shared that they are a premier league club in the making, don't think they realise how much quality exists in the Championship and the cream don't want to play for the sh1t, long may it continue as to me barring a tiny minority of about two people I've never met one of them that I would wish had success and something to really crow about.

Look at the slight smile on his face and the look in his eye as he said the "rag ass Rovers" comment. He knew what he was doing!

I think some of them realise there's probably more to come.....can't wait!

Pathetic stuff What so we're being threatened for commenting on their manager being an arse, yet it was fine for them to have a 380 page thread about us being in non-league and now a 80 page thread about us being in league 2. What a load of tossers

I wonder if Darrell has been approached in some sort of way by a one of them after our relegation, who may have took the micky out of Darrell in some sort of way. Wouldnt surprise me at all. Maybe it was the "rag ass Rovers" comment. Maybe it was Darrell's way of gaining more support from us gasheads, lauging at City losing. I know last season when they faced Port Vale away, Scott Murray presented Colin Daniel (the bloke scored against us for Mansfield that relegated us) with a bottle of bubbly, who was then playing for Vale. Maybe Darrell took offence to that.
I cant believe though that they would be upset about Darrell's comments though. Why would they be after the "rag ass Rovers" comment. I make that 1-1. If they think Darrell was being unprofessional, I didnt see them calling Flint unprofessional after his comment about Swindon!
All a bit hypocritical of them.

Scott Murray another sad sh!thead and an absolute nobody out of Bristol, the teams he played in never really achieved that much anyway. I am starting to hate them lot more and more.

Or maybe very simply he's managing Bristol Rovers and knows of the contempt we (the fanbase) have for 'that lot down the road'. Evidently saw the result beforehand and had a laugh with Twentyman when he asked him. Don't think any of them have 'rubbed him up the wrong way', but its fairly obvious Rovers and City are rivals - especially when you manage one of them!

What a guy! "He's fat, he's round, Cockrells not so sound, what a knob, what a knob"......,repeat ad nauseum. (for those reading from south of the river that means quite a few times)
