Blatant self publicism, but I thought it would be a good idea to publish a blog to collate all the incidents of Sainsbury's screwing over the councils and local businesses. I may even publish some of those trolley photos as well. shamesburys.wordpress.com/If you know of any more I can publish, please could you add them to this thread. If anyone wants to help with this, please can you contact me. It would be nice to have a place that brings everything together and hopefully annoys Sainsburys PR department at the very least.

Wow, if only we had real journalists in the UK, they could do this instead of me hacking stuff together in a decidedly amateur way. The stories all read the same. Councils bend over backwards and break bend the rules to enable a Sainsbury's development, sometimes screwing over competitors in the process. Vendors jump through hoops to claim the pot of gold at much expense to themselves. Then Sainsbury's walk away, scot free, laughing. Does the head of Sainsbury's look anything like Wilson Fisk? We had the wrong lawyers, should have called Nelson and Murdoch.

This sounds like the plot of a bad Western. Are they expecting the railroad to come through their land soon?

I know this is going back to 2011 but still same result ...... the garden centre still stands NO Sainsbury's and Waitrose has moved onto a site half a mile down the road.
Sainsbury's submits plans for store at Malmesbury garden centre site 21 December 2011.
From the section Wiltshire Sainsbury's plans for Malmesbury
Sainsbury's say the 30,000 sq ft site will create 200 full and part time jobs Supermarket chain Sainsbury's has submitted a planning application to Wiltshire Council to redevelop a former garden centre in north Malmesbury. A 30,000 sq ft food store, petrol station, cafe and three employment units are planned for the brownfield land site on the A429. Sainsbury's reviewed their initial plans after receiving feedback following a public consultation. Sainsbury's Ben Littman said the store will "complement" Malmesbury. The Regional Development Executive added: "We have listened to feedback given at our public consultation and made a number of significant changes to the proposal. The final submitted plans reflect the best scheme on the right site for Malmesbury."

So come on then Mr Prime Minister they have pulled out you warned them not to so what ya going to do? 2 July 2014 at 3:27pm Prime Minister warns supermarket not to pull out of Rovers development
The Prime Minister has warned supermarket firm Sainsbury's not to pull out of the Memorial Ground redevelopment. Money raised by Bristol Rovers from the sale would pay for a new ground nearby. But comments by the incoming chief executive of the chain suggest it'll concentrate on opening smaller, city-centre type shops. Our political reporter Robert Murphy has the story.

This is the reason sainsburys won. It would have set a precedent for the masses of supermarkets that they are supposed to be building. May well have put them in trouble if they were forced to buy land/erect supermarkets. F them. All done now and hopefuly any ties to our club are now gone. Unless they come at us for costs of course!

We had the wrong lawyers, should have called Nelson and Murdoch. Might be worth sending your blog to some of the Sunday papers, they like a good 'Bad Guy' story. They don't have any real journalists so hopefully the number of examples listed already, will almost write the story for them. Any negative story would be good.
