So here we are my fist game for quite some time.
Gas 1-0 up at half time. Looking comfortable so far with Billy Bodin. putting in an excellent shift.
For anyone at the game I'm the grey old bigger wearing the Rovers scarf in the middle of summer.

Good overall effort from all the players with no obvious knocks or strains. Impressed with Bodin, who looks like he might give opposing defenders a headache, given the chance. Salisbury gave a fair account of themselves but were on the back foot for much of the match. Not sure about Montana - he worked hard and looked for opportunities but I suspect may have suffered a slight knock in the first half. More gametime needed I feel. Sincs looked in good fettle, happily.
Result was a pretty fair reflection. Also good to see over a thousand at the Ray Mac - with over 300 Gas.

Blissett scores two and sets up one.
Brilliant running and going past his man from Tyler Lyttle and sublime cross right on Lucas head for 3rd goal.
Bodin was effective and caught the eye with step overs and good passing.
Gosling played in the Mansell role.
Columbian done ok first half, def took knock which hampered him as was limping a little.
Best goal of game by Salisbury. Milds beaten by 30yard rocket from their right back.....and their number7, a tricky, fast right winger caught the eye.
Decent start, all of our players barely got out of 2nd gear, but a pleasant drive, nice set up and good game for first real test.
Good luck to Salisbury.

Enjoyed the game today. Chatting to some of the stewards before the game and they say Salisbury not out of the woods yet. The ground is held in trust and presently Salisbury are only guaranteed to play there for this season only. The stewards think that the trustees want to sell it for housing which when you look at the location you can see why. Hopefully a solution can be found or this time next year they could be homeless.
Liked the look of Montana before he took a knock and the Salisbury number 7 looked useful and far too good for the level they will be playing at.

Thought our two young full backs Danny and Tyler did well too. Tyler was playing well up the pitch and in the second half produced a great cross from which Jamie Lucas scored an excellent goal. Liked the new songs for Mildenhall and 'Super' Nathan Blissett who took both his goals well. Some encouraging signs from all players and a good atmosphere amongst a large contingent of Gasheads. Good luck tomorrow against Sutton.

Was Montana better than Balana? Montana was excellent compared to Balanta or Monkhouse, I feel really excited by the prospect of the season starting soon. Bodin was trying to impress showed a few nice touches Lucas was far better than Blisset who, I know scored two and made one was rather impotent for the other 87 minutes. That was the best I had seen Gosling play and in centre midfield too No discredit ti Salisbury, but we were only playing Salisbury today. in other years I have seen us lose to Mangos so it is a good start here hoping for a good display tomorrow too.
