Fair play to them, by far the best team in L1 and it will be interesting to see how they fare in the championship. But only 900 sheds there to witness it? Is Bradford's ground undergoing development too?! The signs are pretty well, don't you think ? Call me negative, ha ha ! But I would have more belief in them doing well in The Champ than us in L2 (if we go up ) - anyone's thoughts ?

Play off chasing Eastleigh took 43 to Halifax Says it all. What does? Suddenly Gasheads are obsessed with the level of support whilst our local rivals disappear up the leagues. Oh well, will we have more fans than Dover?

I just put a similar thread on the other forum ....................... and it's been removed in 10 minutes !! What's that all about ??
Is it too sensitive to talk about our arch-rivals achievements any more ?

The gap in class is far bigger between tier 2 and 3 than it is between tier 4 and 5. IMHO there are some s**t teams in the conference but the home game against Barnet was a better standard of football than I can ever remember seeing in L2. IF we go up, and retain our better players, I think we can challenge again next season.

I think the standard must be pretty s**te in league 1 too, different kettle of fish in the championship a few million will get you a average player 20 mil + and they might challenge,Ashton gate might be a sainsburys in a few years when pantsdown jnr spends daddies money

I really do wish we are where they are, better team, better ground, promoted to the Championship, better manager and don't even get me started on the board but I'm not eaten up by envy and bitterness like some...they don't see us as rivals any more, they view us in the same way as Bath and FGR and the more up ourselves we get the more they're ripping it out of us, so rather than feeding them I think it's better to accept what is and stop making ourselves look silly and immature.

We would certainly have a lot of revenue from season tickets and gates (would that be channelled into strengthening the team ? - not so confident about that ). I would also say ( for a club of our stature) that we should be challenging again near the top just as Luton have ( a similar-sized club). Would be very good if we could persuade Lines to stay but I think we need a lot more quality than him added. Our defence is mean but I strongly believe we would need a new keeper, a right back (who can attack - possibly Leadbitter), a commanding (heading) right-footed Centre back and a right winger as a MINIMUM. What do you think ?

I presume we are talking about Manchester City here and not the 82ers who have not yet won promotion mathematically they can be caught

They are now 3 divisions apart from us ........ wasn't that long ago that we were never more than a division apart. And still there are Gasheads who aren't bothered if we have to wait another possible season to get back in the league. I despair ! God I dispair - an inevitable post that was probably saved in your inbox since last season ended
