Just Because Monkhouse plays on the left side of midfield doesn’t make him a winger.
Ever thought that Bob being a steady eddy in front of Brown, gives Brown the freedom to attack knowing Monkhouse is there to cover him? It’s just the opposite of having a defensive full back who doesn’t get too adventurous letting the bloke him front of him have some freedom
Monkhouse is a good, intelligent footballer, chips in with important goals and assists. His record proves it and that has made him an asset to the team. That’s why he is picked.

IMO Monkhouse is a very good footballer who can pick a pass and could be even better if he was played inside more as when he does go inside he is very dangerous and scores his share of goals. On Saturday I felt he played very well and didn't just set Brown up which I admit he has done in some matches but surely this is how DC wants him to play therefore not his fault. He would not suggest himself that he was a winger now although I believe he was a very good winger in his younger days.

What is monkhouse a fullback or a winger?? Wingers usually take on players, brown is a wingback and get forward For me monkey just fills a gap and is a target for goal kicks, might as well play blisset there yeah. ha ha. great idea. oh, you are being serious

I think monkhouse does a sound job - he has also scored some vital goals. Les Dennis would not do as well!

Although the role Monkey plays means we need pace on the other wing which is a worry once Dawson departs. I'd sooner see the new player, Leadbitter or even Harrison on the right than Balanta unless Sinclair can recover PDQ

He has the ability to clinically finish chances, however much I admire the play making of Matty he doesn't have the ability to finish clinically like Ellis

Despite the title, I see no reference to Warrington on this thread - am I missing something?

If harrison would have started most games all season and he had hit 25 goals by now, given his age then someone like POSH would have bid £300k for him. That's how it works. However, we chose not to play him and we neither got the goals or the potential transfer value. Stupid I'd say.

No one can say Ellis would have scored 25 goals if he had started most games?
Maybe it has taken him time this season to be coached by Stewart, man managed by Clarke to get to the point that he is now. After last season and varying degrees of problems anyone suggesting he should have started this season and would score 25 goals would be lying.

Staying positive here!
I'm sure the Wycombe supporters travelling to Torquay (or wherever it was) last May felt exactly the same as we do now. No chance of results going our way and will just have to accept it isn't going to happen.
THIS IS FOOTBALL MANNNNNN!!
We all know anything can happen, so Mr Hughes & Mr Akinde both notching a brace each on Saturday & Rovers to cruise a 3-0 win!
Then we will see what the atmosphere is like around here!! ; ) bring on the trip!

Of course anything could happen, but Wycombe and us last season were very poor teams who hardly won, they were playing the worst team in Torquay, who beat us at home. Barnet are a side who win a lot and have the top scorer, are playing teams they should beat. I will be at Dover cheering the boys on,hoping and wishing Barnet drop points, just can't see it happening though. Still been a great season whatever happens and we will win the playoffs if that is where we end up

There is no guarantee whatsoever that this scenario would have happened had he started most games from the start of the season. He may not even have as many goals as he does now if he'd been playing from the start of the season?
