With Rex on this one. Plenty of personal abuse is hurled around on this forum & appears to be accepted by everyone. Seems this guy's offence is not spreading his abuse around various posters & concentrating on one. And I thought the forum users had done a great job in policing his recent threads by err ignoring them, nothing makes someone posts look more pathetic & pointless than everyone ignoring them. Think you have made a rod for your own back here.

His spamming and harassment was back, and he will only get more out of control, well done to Oxon for acting now, you could tell it was very close to getting sinister again from him. One poster supporting him doesn't surprise me, but then I have wondered if they are the same person.

Well I haven't ever seen the 2 of you in the same room at the same time! Whilst I believe that all of the admin do a great job It is a poor show threatening a poster with being banned just for acting like a dick. I thought Bridgeman was being bullied the other day and said so, but certainly wouldn't want the poster banned. If posters are acting in a threatening, homophobic or racist way ban them, but acting like a dick, no. OxonGas all the best to your father hope everything turns out OK.

The moderators have a board where complaints from forum members about posters activity goes to. We respond to posters complaints. In general people are quite responsible in their postings and there is little for us to do. If a post is reported it is viewed by a moderator and a suggestion for action is made or if the post is considered racist, homophobic, etc or just ridiculously abusive then action can be taken immediately. Each moderator is made aware of the post and/or action and we can then give our own view on the post/action to be taken or actually taken. We don't sit waiting for these complaints nor do we troll the forum looking for people to ban.
I would say that in nearly all cases moderators are in agreement about action to be taken or that has been taken. Of all the posters Kingswood has been given the most latitude in fact if you want to have a go at the moderators we have probably been more lenient with Kingswood than any other poster! In the past Kingswood seems to have gone out of his way to provoke a response and/or tried to get himself banned. He has been better of late and has NOT been banned but warned. Even when he has been banned it has been for a short period.
I believe we should be able to express our opinions in an open and honest manner without the need to be offensive or abusive. Even if they are tedious, boring, provocative (in the thought provoking sense) or even about City82....
I am personally against trolling as it is usually done under the cover of anonymity and wouldn't happen and wouldn't be tolerated on a face to face basis. To me it is the actions of a coward and a reflection of a sad life. IMHO Trolls are to be pitied.
Kingswood can post what he wants as long as he doesn't get abusive or continue trolling individuals. Personally I agree with CGH that the best way of dealing with such antics is to ignore them. However if posters are complaining then we have to act (much as it frustrates us to have to take action) ~ we cannot ignore consistent complaints from other posters.
Like Oxon if the majority think we are being heavy handed then we are happy to step aside and let those of greater wisdom/experience take up the role.
I would prefer my main focus (apart from my wonderful grandchildren) today to be 3 points at Kiddy! UTG

UTG Sounds to me as if you've got your priorities bang on Chesh and your management of the forum is legendary, keep up the good work and the rest of the Mods too....UTG ! Ps......and One F in Dunford, you're right about me being bullied, I was crying into my pint of beer all night (it got very salty and watered down by the end of the evening, I had to down several more to make up for it )

Look folks my last words on this. I had messaged Kwood a few times asking him to stop with the postings, he ignored them. I then sent the last one warning him that it could not continue and deleted the thread. If it appears heavy handed then I am sorry. None of us like deleting posts or warning posters. We delete anything we think is spam straight away, especially if it has dodgy links. We also try to stop bullying of any type if it is reported or if we feel that it might upset somebody (saying that we have to see them and there are a lot of posts to read. For the record I do not want Kwood to leave the forum but he, like the rest of us have to play by the rules. Hoping for a massive three points today. UTG.

Just an observation. Why is it that every time there's a problem like this and admin are questioned, they always respond by saying 'if you aren't happy then we will resign'? Come on guys, get a grip. Nobody wants anybody to resign, people are just trying to understand what's happening and why decisions are made

Nobody wants anybody to resign, people are just trying to understand what's happening and why decisions are made I think I'd probably do the same. The mods set the tone and hold certain lines that they think make for a good forum; it's a judgement call. We either trust their judgement or we don't. Each call should not be subjected to public enquiry. No-one's got a fundamental human right to post on a website and the mods' decisions aren't subject to international law. In this case, they've been having a quiet word in the background with this guy (again) and he's responded this way. Kinda QED. They've probably got better things to do. The sum total of their calls is the site as a whole. If we don't like that outcome, we can either go elsewhere, or if there is a strong sense that the editorial line should change, they offer to cede the editorial control to others. Fair enough. I think they do a good job, they all come over as good people, and I completely trust their judgement. That's enough understanding for me.

Nobody wants anybody to resign, people are just trying to understand what's happening and why decisions are made I would think it's pretty easy to understand why this particular decision was made. Very good of kingswood gas to let you all know he's jumped ship though. I'm sure you'd all have been very worried about him if he'd just stopped posting with no explanation.

Is it me, or was that more 'popping out for a fag' than 'leaving'?

I think there is a little bit of attention seeking going on By the way Rex we have asked him to stop acting to stop acting as you mentioned. The difficulty is when people don't listen to polite courteous requests, totally ignore you and then step up what they are doing.... Have a good day guys.
