I'd swap with them any day, ground, chairman, league position, players, JPT winners at Wembley...when all we've got to look forward to is maybe beating Sainsbury's because if we don't it'll be us going bust. And most of this thread is nothing more than envy, which I understand but let's not pretend it's anything else. Envy? How can you be envious of something that you could have in an instant? You can envy someone who has more money than you, or a better job, or a nicer car or better house. You can envy these things because you can't have them just because you want them. But any fickle minded twit can support a football club because they are the best in the World/ Europe/ Country/ City (delete as appropriate). Bristol is full of people like this and most of them don't support either Bristol club. the reason MOST people on here can feel no joy for 82 is because the more success they have the greater the gap between us and them will get. No one who has any love for the Rovers will want that to happen!

Witless envy, I have no joy at their success, but I have the intelligence to both acknowledge they've done well and recognise pissing on their parade won't make ours better...I also have the intelligence not to profess love for a football club, there being so many more worthy recipients for that level of affection and commitment.

One thing we should never do is pretend to ignore Bristol City. In order to outwit them we may have to first learn from their experiences.

Congratulations? Really? To that lot? Talk about handing them ammo on a plate.
If you want to give the sheeds & Lansdown a gloss finish, hop over to the OTIB page and have a jolly good bullet tonguing sesh!

As said earlier, I thought their banner when we lost to Doncaster was pathetic and a bit sad. Let them enjoy their moment, at this stage they aren't our rivals, Barnet are stood in the way of what we want to achieve this season. Rather than spitting our collective dummies we need to get our own house in order.

tbh, one of the most refreshing things about this season has been the lack of attention given to them while we try and sort out our own predicament. Long may it continue - I had a look at their team sheet this afternoon and genuinely had no idea who any of their players were.
I am with you on that, amen brother...

Well it as taken Bristol City £70 million to get to the championship / JPT cup - yes I repeat £70 million. The balance sheets ending May 2013 was around £55 million debts of which a large sum was transfered into shares. Last season ending 2014 they lost £10 million and this season maybe a reduction on the £10-£13 average for the last few years. Of course credit goes to SL for pumping ten of millions into the club. But lets be honest if any 3rd tier club lost this money they would be a Hereford by now. Any team outside the top flight of English football would dream of this investment. They do have something of a 'lower league Chelski' about them

Chuck enough money at a club, significantly more than the competition, and eventually you will be successful. Nothing praiseworthy there.
They are a billionaire's plaything. For me, that's not what a football club is about. Personally, I would get bored of it and start following Mangotsfield United or Yate Town.

I would normally say Fairplay but after those posting on their forum during our games chearing for the other team ( every game ) when you do ever seen us doing that? They're beyond obsessed now and it's all getting a bit cringey. Also they can slag us off every time one of our fans swears at a game or something stupid like that but won't get a single mention on all the help us Rovers fans have done for young Oscar. So basically I would say fairplay but actually... f**k em

You said "I also have the intelligence not to profess love for a football club" in response to my reasoned point about why posters on here aren't jumping on your bandwagon to congratulate the s***heads. Being as many if not most on here clearly do love their football club you are calling it that you are superior to them, that you are a superior being than the rest of us who love our team.. It's either that or that you are simply a condescending , pompous twit. Which is it?
