Admittedly, I am an avid viewer (stalker) of the forums but never before been R'sed to post. However, finding it hard to understand why there is no current Gatehead thread on here. A gas head of 35 years, I have learnt, like many of you, that you have to take the rough with the smooth, although I admit what we are experiencing at the minute is a smooth bit of rough. Anyway, I fear a poor turnout Saturday and that bemuses me. Top of the league, one of the great football cities of the Uk, great nightlife, Toon at home, full of brummies (to make you feel better about yourself), what more could a football fan want??!! Anyway, moral of the rant, get yourself up there, the boys deserve it, doesn't matter what league we are in or what muppet has the BRFC PIN number, our very presence at every game optimises what we are, GAS. Hello and welcome!
Scroll down to page 2 and there are a couple of Gasheads to Gateshead threads.
There have been others over the past couple of months as many paid for trains and planes well in advance and were worried the game might be postponed. If I could I'd be there. Safe trip to those that can, and have a top weekend.

Heading too and from on the day, nice little ten hour round trip. By God I hope we come home with all three points.

I'm not going myself - cos I just can't afford it, but I heard plenty of people leaving the Mem on Tuesday evening saying pretty much this:
"sod it, I'm going to Gateshead on Saturday now!"
Others have been planning flights and accommodation a long time in advance, so I'd expect a pretty decent turn out.

I salute anyone who makes the trip, long way. My apologies for the rant but annoys the hell out of me how we take 2000 to the R"s end of no where and mouth on about it and then a proper game comes up when we"re Top the league and nowt!! Appreciate the expense but come on guys, we make this f'kin club. just to spice it up, there's an anti Pegida demo in the morning in the town centre at 10.30!! George Galloways only there for the gas apparently!!

We took '2000 to the R"s of no where' because it was not far from anywhere i.e. South Wales, Bristol, the Midlands and London which is where most of our support comes from. No disrespect to Gateshead but as far as our main support it is in the middle of no where (apart from the Scottish Gas) but despite living in South Wales or further afield there will be plenty of support for the Gas. There will be plenty of travelling support as it's pay on the day. We've broke a number of away ground records with our support this season, this might be one journey too far for many but you'll be hearing Irene loud and clear on Saturday. UTG ! Ps.....good to hear from you though, comment more often now you've broken the ice.....

You are right of course and I understand the logistics. If I"m honest I'm probably just trying to create/ re-create a bit of passion. I'm under no illusions, we aren't a league side anymore and we probably can't expect what we could get if we were but to me, whether your premier or league dog s@it, it doesn't matter, u follow your side whatever and that's the problem Bristol has, your kids(my kids) watch too much sky and wanna watch fantasy football, wrong!! Anyway, last post, 3 points sat. UTirene

Pax vobiscum. UTI I'm very puzzled tarki-m. Are you really from the Gateshead tourist board? Plenty'll be there, so don't worry, but I'm not sure many would appreciate you signing off by wishing everyone a urinary tract infection! Pax vobiscum et serva fidem
