More like until some idiot throws £50+ Million at us with no hope of ever getting it back it will always be the same.
Lets be honest with the UWE scheme we were making progress off the field, if it fails it won't be because of the way the club is run. On the field we have our problems - so did City last year, lets hope we are seeing the beginnings of change on the pitch, but again without a billionaire to throw money at it will have to be steady progress I am afraid.

The one reason I'm glad I'm not a s**thead is the way they're completely losing their identity and becoming Bristol Sport Football Division. I'm really looking forward to the rebranding of Trashton, the diluting of the clubs identity and the pushing of the Bristol Sport brand. You can already see it, the Bristol Sport logos are stitched on their kit whereas the City one just ironed on (the same with Bristol Rugby).

Many loyal C*ty fans are VERY cheesed off about the whole Bristol Sport thing. Even the scarves upset them. Bristol Sport on one side. Their "innocent"(?) use of the word Ultras was banned. The "suits" then criticise them for lack of atmosphere. I am no C*ty lover at all but football fans deserve better. Don't use BCFC as the model.

The truth is without money it is VERY difficult to compete and getting even more so. We could only dream of getting the players City have in their team including the Loan players. Lansdown saw that we were down and started throwing a bit of his cash around again. Wouldn't like our club to be associated with anything like "the Bristol Sport" idea. I agree there are still a lot of smaller clubs who are competing far better but don't think we are miles away from a League 2 standard team. The UWE scheme is still very important for us as there is no future whatsoever at the Mem and the quicker people realise that the better.

Until people take a stand against how the club is run, it and always will be the same. The problem is when small groups do take a stand ( , they remain just that - small groups, apathy rules and the majority will end up with the club they deserve.... we already well on the way in the fact that we are now a non league club (we have been non league off the pitch for years!) untillfans properly hold those that make porr decsions truly accountable then not much will change.

I won't be getting my pantie's in a tangle because Rovers never gave me a free scarf. Rovers will never die because we have a loyal fan base. We are unbreakable. You will never get rid of the Gas......and they know it.

One thing they have not got is their dignity in 1982 they owed a lot of people a lot of money which was never paid they even had to tear up players contracts telling them if they didn't accept a pittance they would get nothing. We will always have the moral high ground over those guttersnipes.

Yep, the Bristol Sport stuff was certainly in your face watching on the BBC. Was the logo on their kit wheeled out especially for the cameras? Did Bristol Rugby play in red last week or did I imagine that? The whole operation looks very slick but can see the football side of things being absorbed into this anodyne, soulless glorified branding exercise. Not for me. I love my FOOTBALL club. Come on you Blues.

They will soon be known as Bristol Sport FC, literally. Those scarves said it all for me, slowly losing their identity. That logo was everywhere. And it made me laugh when Jacqui Oatley was quoted saying it's just 'poor old Bristol Rovers' that aren't involved when speaking with pantsdown, good, I'm glad.

Really? Taken in isolation this problem with Sainsburys could be deemed a one off, not of their making. But sadly, if you consider the untold amounts that have been spent on various development plans since 2005 and the on going operational losses during that period, then you really do have to question the way the club is run

A new stadium is important, I doubt that anyone would argue against that. But what is equally important, perhaps the most important, is how it is financed, how it is designed to maximise commercial revenues and how the club operates within a new stadium and the potential opportunities that it gives, financially. There is nothing that has occurred that gives me confidence that any of that is clear and concisely planned for.

The C**y. Watching the game on Sunday on TV, we are absolutely miles behind them in everything we do and have been for years. It will be a long, long time before we can ever be considered anywhere near them in infastructure or on the pitch. If ever. Sad. You have to ask yourself, When was the last time Rovers "Gave" anything to the gas apart from some vouchers for so called pasties & a watered down tap water called beer ? The marketing person who came up with the scarf idea was brilliant, all those red scarf on full display of multi million TV audenance ... God help us Yes it was a good idea, but when they showed the Atyeo stand I couldn't help but think it looked like one of those "Where's Wally" pictures

Until people take a stand against how the club is run, it and always will be the same. How should it be run? Name ANY League club that makes a profit. Have you forgot that City owe £55 million to Lansdowne. Where would they be without him? Probably where we are.
Put the Agenda away, it ain't going to happen

In 12/13, 10 League 2 clubs made a profit and 6 from League 1 did also. So please put your tired old talk of "agendas" in the bin.

If you have ever been to Stadium MK, you'll know you can practically smell the plastic before you even get in the car park,
That will be Trashton Gate soon. No doubts about it.

All that was seen at Ashton Gate at the weekend was a professional marketing plan in action. Regardless of what the older fans think about free scarves, the youngsters would have loved it! They will return to fill the 27,000 seats! Just a look at Forest Green Rovers new stand & match day operation show's how far behind we are!
We missed a trick when we were in the Championship years ago! That was the time to make a move - at the start of the Sky Sports revolution!
We will do well to get to League One in the next 10 years, and the Premier League and Championship are a distant dream!

Is it only me that is worried that they will be become Bristol Sport FC because in 5-10 years we won't exist? I think UWE was the only way the Directors could get their money back. Based on our current poor financial management I don't think we could last 2-3 years as a non league club.

The most depressing thing is I'm not even that bothered about Rovers having a sw**ky new 2100 seater stadium, although I understand the importance of modern facilities in this age, or how much the squad costs. I would just be wholly more positive about the future of BRFC, if we had people in control who could effectively run the club on the average 6000 attendances most lower league sides could only dream of! We sort of bring it on ourselves however, I myself vowed to not return to the Mem unless I felt the "review" we were told would happen, was properly performed but lo and behold a few good results and I'm back to handing money over to the boneheads running us
