But was Richard Walker ''the most underrated Rovers player of all time?'' Personally I think not, and he sits very comfortably in my history pages of BRFC very nicely. As PP has posted ''he scored 60 goals in about 140 games for us,'' that is a more than respectable strike rate and will ensure that he retains his place in the history of the club. His time with us was successful both for him and us, but relatively brief. As for comparisons with other players, well . . . For me 'legend' status is not just about longevity and commitment to the club (although that is important rightly) it's also about providing 'moments' and if Richard Walker had done nothing else other than score those 2 goals in a Wembley final I think that would be enough!

Walker suffers a bit thanks to the likes of Cureton, Roberts, Hayles, Ellington, and co playing for us in recent memory. None of them scored 2 goals at a Wembley final though so he deserves a higher status than he has.

Walker is up there with my favourite ever players for the club.
Take note Nick Day - I would love to see Walker come back on the pitch at half time!

What did Carl Saunders ever do apart from a two or three year spell with us? The two notable clubs he played for were the great BRFC & Stoke...183 games & 31 goals for Stoke & 163 games with 50 goals for us. Richard Walker has played in 408 games for 10 teams scoring 109 goals...(175 games & 61 goals for us.) We all celebrated all his goals, more so at Wembley.....even his biggest critic Tboner no doubt. Would love him in our team now.

Walker should be high upon such a list.
