IF the stadium was sorted I could imagine the Gas would be a decent prospect for a foreign investor with some cash to burn...

I wouldn't have though a gas head and editor of a high profile publication would be doing themselves any real favours or forging good PR by posting a link if it just does turn out to be a play on words or something totally irrelevant. Let's hope not anyway!

Let's hope not anyway! Agreed, but what evidence is there that the original poster actually is who he says he is? Has wind-up written all over it. Anyway, isn't it more fun watching a bunch of 'relatively low on talent but massively high on commitment' players, with a fantastic team spirit, get us right up there? It feels like we are doing it by ourselves, organically if you will. Much as I hate being non-league, I love the 'new Rovers' we have right now. Of course, when we're in the Europa League giving Valencia a good game in the away leg, I will look back at this post with a tinge of embarassment... But right now I am enjoying the ride. I don't need wind-ups about oil billionaires to get my hopes up. My hopes for an amazing Saturday at Woking are good enough.

There's probably some sad case City fan over on their forum now laughing about how he's "wound all the sags up" except that nobody believes we're getting bought.

The editor is a genuine Rovers fan. See the link below for a previous article that he wrote that mentions Rovers. Quite a good article actually. www.gulfweekly.com/Print.aspx?storyid=29944I strongly suspect that it is a quiet news week in Bahrain and he's simply written a story using us as an example of a UK club that are ripe for a takeover by a middle eastern money man or firm. Probably should have used a question mark rather than an exclamation mark in his title but hey, we can't all be perfect...

From living in the Gulf for three years I have never heard of this news source. Although it is Bahrain based so I can only assume that it doesnt spread much further afield.
On the oil side of things, I've always thought 'Qatar Gas' would be a good sponsor! The only problem is though, part of their logo is red!

Good article.
I'd be happy with Bahrain or any Middle East investors as long as they recognise it's not all about them, a la Vincent Tan.
It's the supporters that give our club its soul... and its potential.
