potentially a cracking signing and one that sends out a positive message on the pitch at lease to the fans and opposition. welcome aboard Jermaine. Agreed potentially a great signing. My only fear is it may unsettle some of the rest of the squad as i'm going to make a wild guess that he hasn't come on the same money as the summer signings. Hopefully my fears unfounded & DC can successfully manage this aspect.

I don't think they are the kind of players (like the fools last season) who would. They will appreciate that Easter is coming from a Championship club and understand his wages. Not that I think they are massively higher.

Don't care if being positive offends anyone so, Superb bit of business by DC & the board, nothing like the signing of Riordan, this bloke has been playing on a regular basis this season and last season in 3 divisions above ours, he's living nearby and has the quality to lead an exciting strikeforce. Dawson also seems to be an exciting signing to, time to push forward and keep ticking those games off. Fwiw, I don't think it's your being positive that offends anyone, it's all the stupid meaningless little digs you seem to feel obliged to stick in your posts, like 'Don't care if being positive offends anyone...'

This is the kind of signing that usually worries me but DC knows the bloke and has a reasonable success rate of signings so far.
That said, pressure is well and truly on the new boy given where he's signed from.

It's the young nippy lad Dawson from Leicester. Any clarification on this at all? No one picking up on this at all. Cheers

18 month deal isn't too bad for somebody who is 33 on Thursday. Strange that Adam Dawson is another player described as a "predominantly left sided winger", but at least he actually is a winger and not someone like Andy Bond!

Read the comments on DC manager of the month thread, the usual suspects embarrassing themselves because i dared to praise DC. Don't turn this thread into something about me which is what was attempted on the other thread. Well done tinkerman Darrell, continuing to build a good side and make changes to the team on a regular basis.

Not that I think they are massively higher. Agreed. The wages Brown, Mildenhall, Parkes, Mcchrystal and Harrison are on didn't appear to bother Sinclair, Monkhouse etc when they signed for the Rovers. Hopefully Easter will turn out to be like the other Clarke signings and have the right attitude. An 18 month contract but as for wages, anyones guess. Bare in mind that no fee was involved so wages can be evened out hypothetically. Onwards and upwards I say.

Don't turn this thread into something about me ... And yet you tried to turn it into something about people being offended by your positivity.

If I recall correctly, when asked about Easter a while back on Radio Bristol DC confirmed they had met and he said what he could offer. I am sure the budget might stretch a bit more for a player like Easter than a Matt Taylor, but I don’t think given what has been said by DC in the past about his budget that he is/or was going to splurge a large chunk of budget on Easter.
Who knows with him wanting to move home and his career winding down he is prepared to take a significant pay cut. Who know what he has earned in signing on fees, what he may have invested and any other business ventures he might have. Football might just be earning him pocket money for all we know.
Don’t know what Millwall were paying him, but you only have to look at someone like Steve Elliot who cut his wages in half to sign for Cheltenham so he could stay in the area

For those complaining that DC only signs people he knows from Salisbury, not true; he just signed his old next door neighbour.
