Overton too takes a lot of credit for that win - turned the momentum of the match around with his 80 odd.
I think Somerset fans can start getting quite excited here - they clearly have something in the Championship this year. I mean I'm still struggling to look past Yorkshire's ludicrous depth but they look like the best equipped challengers. They're certainly the best cricket of anyone else in Div 1 right now. Alfonso Thomas is like old man river - I'd written him off to be honest because he's getting on a bit, had an injury plagued season last year and it seemed like Somerset were asking him to do way too much. Instead I think he's in the midst of his best season yet. Obviously this means they will finish 2nd.......again.

Thanks for that - I love how progressively more excited the Somerset fielders get after each wicket. They just move quicker and quicker to congratulate him! Meanwhile Glos seem to be on the verge of pulling off the 'impressive' and very hard to achieve feat of scoring no points in a County Championship game (you more or less get one for turning up)! Shame - because we'd had 2 good results up to that point and really should be doing well against Surrey who've been a shambles all year. Missed opportunity really. Outside chance they might save it but it's a very outside chance.

It can't go on for ever, can it?

Good young seam attack - I like Roderick as a promising talent with the gloves. Dent seems to get a bit better every year, Tavare is showing promise. Small steps but steps nonetheless. All seems to have come massively undone in this game though - and like I say it's dissapointing because Surrey looked like they were there for the taking.
