The Torquay forum is an absolute laugh riot. Makes you wonder if any one giving their post match thoughts, were actually anywhere near the ground! To be fair it's only a couple of sad acts blaming the ref and the weather for their defeat and other posters have shouted them down. All the 'your nothing compared to Barnet and Gateshead' is a bit unnecessary and stinks of sour grapes mind. I enjoyed the part where someone suggested 'if that's your best away performance all season you certainly won't be going up'! Personally I thought most of our football all afternoon was superb, switching the attacking play from one side to the other at speed and the way we completely tore them apart down the right side, particularly in the second half. Looked decent enough to me!

I can't understand the "you won't go up comments" maybe we won't catch Barnet but we probably start as Play Off favourites bar a massive drop in form.

your right, looked in late last night and did wonder from the posts[not at the game myself] ,and there is quite a contrast .but having said that "friendlygas" does make hisself seem a bit of a tit in one of his later pots,, getting a bit carried away methinks Personal highlights were, we didn't have ten clear chances in the match, they played all the football and we should have had two red cards! Not entirely sure there was even one bad tackle all game! Mansell & Sinclair were going in hard but won the ball every single time! Great to see. In fairness, Blissett did jump into one of their players with his arms up - could have been a red card on another day but it would have been harsh. Monkhouse's red card at Telford was a lesser offence.

Just seen the highlights, looked like a great performance. Definite handball in the last minute, great decision by the linesman to see that.

imagine if we scored all those missed chance's, would have gone a long way to playing catch up on our goal difference

I bet Spiess is mighty relieved non-league football receives very little exposure, horrific mistake that!

I'm not sure we look "odds on" for anything! Avoiding relegation? Should have passed 50 points by the turn of the year so it's looking good!

Leadbitter got away with a cracking foul early on, it was a definite booking but the ref thought he got the ball. I actually laughed out loud at that one. Absolute shocker of a challenge

Realised I put this in the highlights post by mistake
Well put together high plights BTW. Dont know what happened to sound second half. Well despite all the chances you created we could have got a point. There were some controversial moments ie your second goal. Also whether you should have had a PEN or a red card. Could have been 10-1. Bad error from your goalie. Don't think your the best team Gateshead and Barnet both look better. Young didn't have his best performance but still a good player especially as he just came back from injury. Mansell got a good recetion and all he did was his wayward one touch passes.
What's done is done see you at the memorial ground where hopefully we turn up as we didn't deserve a point from plainmoor (launa windows...) But nearly got one.
Last point goodnight Irene is the most annoying chant of all and for 1200 away fans (always louder as everyone sings) you arent very loud

hello to all This is a big thank you to all rovers fans who travelled to torquay on boxing day ive been asked to leave a thank you post by my friend ken Sutherland who enjoyed a drink or two with some of your guys in the London inn (wetherspoons) torquay harbour prior to the match and then kindly gave him a lift home to st.marychurch on the coach saving him a costly taxi fare (as no buses) it was a very kind gesture and much appreciated.
p.s thank everyone for a good day its all very important for football and the towns involved (regardless of outcome)
happy new year to you all...............mark Richardson & ken Sutherland.

happy new year to you all...............mark Richardson & ken Sutherland. Thank you guys, Had a good chat with lots of your fans in the Union pub and on the way to the ground. Always a good ground to visit and most of your fans like ours are more interested in the football than causing problems. I hope like ourselves you don't hang around in the Conference too long

It has come to my attention that Grimsby and Barnet haven't played each other yet this season. Interesting, let's keep winning You do wonder who chooses the fixtures, and why have double headed fixtures at Xmas/Easter? We're looking odds on for second at present whether we can make the summit will be interesting. this is non-lge. they think it's 1950's England. We'll be playing Christmas Day next season
