hang on Henbury i thougth the 106 aproval was linked to the land. if barclays have caled in the club debt surely them signing the s106 cannot have happened? Would it not be legal? i have no idea what Barclays involvement is in this matter, i'm just repeating something i was told, hence this question ? Maybe they are the go between for Sainsbury and rovers ??

I think you will find that Barclays called in their loan and the club had to refinance. you seem to have your finger on the club finances, would it have anything to do with Barclays being one of the signatures on the recent 106 approval for extended hours ?? On a completely different matter, were you stood in the Blackthorn End today with a top on that said BRFC Henbury Gas ?

As always with Rovers, there are more questions than answers. If Barclays were involved in the legal / planning process and they thought that there would be money coming from Sainsbury's any time soon, they wouldn't have called in the loan, would they?

Maybe a conflict of interest ? just asking.

Barclays are the bank that Sainsbury will soon be paying in £29 million for purchase of the Mem is that normal soon or Bristol Rovers soon? as soon to me means in the next week or two , where as in Bristol Rovers terms soon means sometime in the next decade or 10 but not necessarily ever

Barclays are the bank that Sainsbury will soon be paying in £29 million for purchase of the Mem So have we changed loan companies then, surely "conflict of issues" doesn't come into banks lending out loans, unless Barclays are taking an actual financial interest in the UWE, other than as loanees/mortgagees?

If what Henbury Gas is saying is true then I will be totally shocked Sainsbury's are paying out before the legal challenge finishes. My source ( political) suggest the papers have recently been signed and a 'window' taking us to around mid January is now starting . Once this legal access is over then the ball can start rolling.
Like I said before I don't anticipate a challenge unless some ultra - anti supermarket : anti - extended hours groups fills in the paperwork in the next few weeeks and makes a challenge. But Henbury do have good contacts . It;s certainly not what I'm hearing and we still have a long way to go...

Just a gut feeling based on little bits of unrelated info being touted by my friends & contacts - nothing concrete ! simple things like changes notices still going on with the UWE etc

Henbury : May you share some more info on this comment ; ' changes notices still going on with the UWE' From what i understand from my planning mates (over a beer or 3) is some changes have to be made in line with new planning legislation etc, also something to do with water retention and dispersal, god knows what that's all about ! Also meetings are still taking place with interested parties... ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) all in all not the sort of thing going on if the project was dead in the water Its just be puting 2 & 2 together and getting £30m ![:|](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/plain.png)

I think everyone has now accepted the project is dead, Sainsburys has no intention of opening a store at the Mem, we are owed some compensation but certainly not anything like the original price and the range being debated is between £3 and £5 million paid in instalments. Internally I believe it is anticipated we stay at the Mem until we at the very least achieve promotion into League Div 1. So all in all a great result.

I think the only areas still being debated are, the amount of compensation and how it'll be paid and whether it's a great result, of which the latter will probably remain a matter of opinion.
