The recruitment is more likely driven by which players are willing to turn out in this pub division. EP ran a story saying that Ward was backed to bring strikers in and that when he reported back at the end of transfer deadline day that he hadn't signed anyone, he was then 'moved upstairs' (whatever that means) Clarke was put in sold charge and our fate was sealed. Not sure LDV is much of an indicator of things changing, we had Will Packwood, different position but equally as good. From here it looks to me as if the club is still run on a reactionary basis. How many managers has Higgs employed? It looks like this one may, with some luck, be able to get Rovers promotted back into a division containing Accrington Stanley and Morcambe. Whoopeee!small steps first... the premier will take a few more seasons What if MCP are funding the new stadium and we have it on a 100 year lease... If they are fundinging the stadium, who will take all the amazing funding streams that are supposed to launch us up the divisions and make us self sufficient?

Then Higgs would have already have called a press conference, he would have broken open another new white shirt and would be barging to the front, grinning, announcing to the world how those rotters Sainsbury's tried to pull the carpet out from under his feet, but he was too smart for them. Of course, he would have to explain how we have got from a fully funded, wholly owned and debt free stadium to being, in effect, tennants, but I'm sure little details like that wouldn't worry anyone how about MCP having a clause in the contract stopping Nick from doing that until the Stadium is built ?? How about a Private investor putting £40m into the club.... How about we have sold the club to Pantsdown just to piss you off We DON'T KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON AND WE WILL NEVER KNOW UNTIL ITS A DONE DEAL You put forward possible scenarios, I commented on them, then you start shouting about how we don't know what's actually going on. Why didn't Higgs call a press conference to announce to the world who our new financial partners are? Read Vaughan's posts, that might explain things. Wonder if Sainsbury's have mustered enough interest to bother responding to the writ yet?

Who really cares about a bloody "Top down review"? All I want is a return to our League status and this season. Get the right signings in January and we will get that. It will be the best review possible..sideways,backwards,top to bottom ..who bloody cares. Its the Football that we watch week in week out that I care about. Yeah, players are like robots, you just buy them and off they go. The running of the club definitely doesn't impact on how much money there is for new players, how they are found, how the recruitment is handled, how they are attracted to the club, that just happens. Who the hell cares about a youth system as well? Yeah buying players might cost more, and the players will have no link to the club or the fans, but who cares about that? Also all that rubbish about the system of play they go into, the facilities and personnel used to coach them, how they are managed and motivated, how their transition to the club is handled, how their contracts are handled, all of that mumbo jumbo won't affect their performance one bit...

Yes we're going bust so thought we'd spunk 50k last month on Blissett. last throw of the dice.... I heard that the club used all the ST money before August and were very skint.... Colin Williams offered assistance and had a very very good plan to keep the club going... it was turned down .. the club had enough money to just about get through till xmas ... well xmas is fast approaching and we have effectively re mortgaged... i though at the Q&A forum Nick and Toni said the aim was to remove loans/debt like this (secured) and they had worked hard to do so and issued loans/shares themselves to cover losses why this sudden change of plan? worrying times indeed What was the very very good plan??? Guess no one knows, they just say that. If it was that good and the Uwe is dead and we are going bust why would he say no?

So what's the deal here? Who have the board borrowed cash from?
If Barclays called in the money BRFC owes them, I guess that had to be re-borrowed from elsewhere.
Can ANYONE, even venture capitalists, be worse for the club than the incompetent shower who lead us here?

Guess no one knows, they just say that. If it was that good and the Uwe is dead and we are going bust why would he say no? The first plan Colin was part of was Rovers agenda for change, a well thought out plan on how to run the business prudently without creating huge sums of debt, this was rejected by I believe GD at the time and we can see what effect that pearl of wisdom from GD has had on the club. Nick Higgs would not swallow his pride and allow Colin on board because Colin is good friends with Kev Spencer. It's all about ego and self worth, NH is IMO far too arrogant and insecure in business to allow anyone to move in and do a better job. The club is stuck with the status quo and if DC does not perform a miracle this season then the club still has plenty of room to sink even lower IMO.

Anyone thought that the "new loan" was in fact to cover the original mortgage which was provided to the club by Boycie and Geoff D, as no bank would give them a mortgage to buy the Mem. Perhaps Geoff wanted his Mortgage loan paid up?

Why wouldn't BRFC announce this great new strategic partnership with MCP? The reality is that BOD knows that we are sadly a collective bunch of muppets who are either too short-sighted (beware bespectacled cats) to notice or too apathetic to switch on the risk radar when evaluating this fundamental change related to the financial structures of the Club. Of course, we should trust Transparency Higgs, as we know from experience that he would tell us everything. See last year. Everyone knows where the club is going - that's why there are 10 pages dedicated to this thread alone. Nick - if one of your spies e-mails this to you - do tell all (at least a paragraph) in the Chairman's report. Yes we're going bust so thought we'd spunk 50k last month on Blissett. That would be an ecumenical matter.

Perhaps Geoff wanted his Mortgage loan paid up? Not true. 50% of the funds to buy the Mem from Arthur Holmes was provided by Barclays, the rest by private investors.

I presume any investment plan involving Colin Williams would be great for the club, a true gashead and good business brain.I imagine this would involve Mike Turl, a business man who is highly successful and wanted to be involved before. Now that Dunford has gone maybe this is a possibility. Mike attended a match recently. Another true gashead. Visit the Solihull Moors website and see who is sponsoring them with an ex Rovers with an ex Rovers player as manager.

Williams made the offer in the summer. Higgs didn't return the call. Don't think Geoffrey is alone in holding grudges.
