I thought blissett was the best striker on the field. Yea sure not fantastic on the ground, if he was he wouldn't be in the conference. But he found space, won his challenges and scored a fine goal.
It's a shame we can't source those type of players...
Well done him.

He did run us ragged and was a real handful, he would not score all the goals but could make them for others as Brunt failed to win hardly any headers all afternoon. Brunt gave everything but he is not the same player he was when he first signed.

He's scored four goals this season (the same as Adam Cunnington), so he's probably not the answer to our goalscoring problems. Parkes and especially McChrystal are small by centre-half standards so I don't think Blisset would stand out against other Conference team's defences and his goalscoring record appears to confirm this.

(Cunnington scored for Cambridge on Friday - the equaliser in a 2-1 win, then got subbed and the sub scored the winner.)
Blissett stood out and was a real hand full, but had little end product. BRFC training staff should look at where a corner should go, not 10 yards beyond the far post as nearly all of ours have this season.

To be fair to our training staff LDV was just as bad, perhaps our training ground pitch is bigger than the Mem?
If we signed a Blisset type player would he make more chances for Taylor/White etc or do we need a Cureton like goalscorer?

Although I don't think he is the answer to our problems, what impressed me was his positioning. When Kidderminster launched it long, he was invariably in a position to run and attack the ball as oppposed to a standing start, which lead to him winning the mast majority of challenges. It also highlights the distribution of the kidderminster defenders.
With regards to Brunt, I do feel sorry for him, as he gets no protection from referees at this level. When the ball is played to his chest or feet he is constantly fouled and the ref (as usual) failed to do his job. Also our 2 central midfielders play so deep he doesn't have many options in the central part of the pitch.

I agree with the last post. He ran the wings well, but Kidderminster midfield supported him unlike our midfield who are always too deep. I still think he would be an assett but dont lets kid ourselves A striker will not solve our problems, we also need more strength in midfield. Well done LDV looks a lad with a lot of promise!

In the game that I witnessed today, taylor changed the game with his movement and touches and scored the equaliser.... Agree with that, Brunt & Harrison were totally ineffective, Taylor was trying to make things happen and he reminds of Dave Clarkson in that he has a decent football brain and a decent ammount of technical quality. I think Taylor will end up with 15 goals this season which is a great effort when you consider he's still young, doesn't get much service and is playing under extremely poisonous conditions where yet again today he was getting abuse. Nice to see a player who isn't earning an over the top wage, isn't a sicknote and who has the potential to get better & better. Based on what?

What would be the point in giving the vultures something to pick over? You can no longer give opinions on this forum because it is flooded with posters who have no intention about posting there own thoughts, they are just out to pick away at what anyone else posts. And before anyone says that what a forum is about, it really isn't, there has to be some balance in posting your opinion without making reference to anyone else, and then constantly going around quoting people and tearing apart what they have to say.

Well ... yeah ... because I'd be interested to know. And what's the point in coming on a discussion board if you don't want discussion? People said exactly the same things about Harrold and Beardsley last season. The goals I mean, not the discussion board thing. I just think it's funny that people seem to have no objectivity: The same people who think the sh1t will bottle it think we'll catch Barnet yet the evidence is to the contrary for both. Taylor doesn't really look anywhere near like he'll get 15 goals this season - and even if he does: as our main forward that's not good enough. And isn't his career best 10 league goals in a season? That's why I want you to explain.

Kiddie have a habit of turning out big strong centre forwards. Jamile Matt came from them to haunt us when he played for Fleetwood.
Why cant we churn out similar?
I thought Blisset was good and a mix between Devon White and Christian Maclean......Devon in the air and Christian on the ground......with combined physique !
