More importantly have we spoken to Sainsbury's yet and told them what we expect as per Toni Watola? what have Sainsbury's said? The silence is worrying although not unexpected, didn't TW say they'd be contacting Sainsbury's within 48 hours (if it was me I'd be contacting them that afternoon!) by my reckoning that would be on Friday, surely they've had time to respond by now? Wasn't there any dialogue before last week asking Sainsbury's what there intentions were if they got PP? he was asking why they[sainburys] were halving the value of Nectar points, as he would now be short [on his calculations] of being able to get his xmas turkey for 14 pence

Back to the confidentiality ruse until something good, or bad, happens.

Those expecting a running commentary on the discussions between the parties are going to be disappointed. Let's hope the outcomeis positive.

Dont expect a running commentary but realisticltly there are two answers. Yes or no from Sainsburys. To be honest we are past confidentiality BS now if we are setting out what we exoect from our 'partners'

Well surely that will happen this week, as either will say they are paying up or not, or they'll just be silence from them which will tell it's own story.

I'm starting to think this was all planned by Rovers and Sainsburys to get the planning amendment through.

Not so sure if they are still planning on building on the Mem site I assume they'll be in regular contact with the local planners. If, say, they haven't been in contact for several months surely that would tell it's own story?

Even if Sainsbury's do want to build on the Mem, they are still at least 18 months from a start date, as Rovers would have to build UWE first.

True but don't forget the extended delivery hours have just been approved, was this all down to Rovers or did Sainsbury's finally show some interest before the planning meeting took place? TW suggesting he was going to contact Sainsbury's "in the next 48hrs" suggests they took no interest at all in the meeting?

To be honest we are past confidentiality BS now if we are setting out what we exoect from our 'partners' I think there are 3 possible answers, yes, no and maybe. The maybe is where Sainsbury's have found another loophole that they argue would be an onerous condition, or something in the contractual arrangements between them and us. So I know we don't like it, but the confidentiality between parties is definitely no BS, in fact worse, if confidentiality is breached it may be grounds for termination and a claim for compensation. My advice, or at least the way I am thinking now, is forget about the stadium (we can't do anything now as fans) and think about the football.

If Sainsbury’s are going to give us the money then it shouldn’t take too long to get that answers surely.
Anything other than a yes, again surely something will have to come out that Sainsbury’s don’t want to pay up and are still trying to get out of it, or are trying to offer compo will have to be mentioned pretty soon.
I can’t see how many hiding places/excuses and lack of information there can be anymore.
I can’t help imagine a Chairman’s statement saying he has reluctantly had to accept a compensation figure from Sainsbury’s (or worse). A lid can’t be kept on top of everything forever

We need to find out IF anyone can make a legal challenge and HOW long is the process ?. I was told 6 weeks from the decision under new laws. Surely until any challenge is over Sainsbury's wont actually hand over a cheque.
Which would make the deadline December 24th at 5 pm

If he can why did TW suggest he'd be contacting Sainsbury's "within 48 hrs" following the decision.

Wasn't the delivery amendment approved by a Government Inspector, therefore there is no process in place for it to be challenged....or have I just been hallucinating again ?

Contacting Sainsburys in 48 hours is one thing, it doesn't mean we'll get an update straight away.
I imagine a phone call will be followed up with something formal in writing. We then have to wait back for something formal in writing from Sainsburys.
If they are stalling, for any reason, I guess the next step is Rovers stating a timeline for when they expect the monies to be paid, and what their actions would be should that not happen.
I'm not expecting an update for at least a couple more weeks.
