Harrison managed a shot, although he made a hash of it.

Would like to see White & Ellis in a run of games once Cunnington goes back. Would be good to see what JW can offer, Taylor clearly needs the break.

For all the criticism of Taylor it must also be said that Parkes gives away a goal scoring opportunity virtually every game. Mildenhall got him out of trouble again yesterday. Would like to see Lockyer play centre half in place of Parkes and Lebitter at right back (once his suspension is over).

Reading Holloways book Ollie, There is a chapter about Jason Roberts struggle to score when he first signed for us, Gary Penrice spent hours every week coaching him, the result was a great goal scorer. The club should approach Gary and ask him if he would coach Matt Taylor there is nothing to lose and maybe a lot to gain.

But getting back to the player himself, his confidence must be shot, don't you think?

The club should approach Gary and ask him if he would coach Matt Taylor there is nothing to lose and maybe a lot to gain. Reminds me of the old joke: God came down and offered to help with the problems on Earth. He was shown a map of the Middle East and told about the history and present allegiances etc. He said that was a little tricky. [this is where you can put in anything of choice] DC asked Him to make Matty Taylor a better striker, to which he responded, "Where's that map?" Harsh, I know.
It alarms me that you can sign strikers who have been playing for years and a. they can not hit a cow's @rse with a banjo, and b. they need deep coaching; these guys are not taken off Muller Rd. OK people can improve with courses etc in normal work, but after a few years of doing the same job surely they are at least competent. Alright King Rickie became an even better striker when he left, but it was not rocket science to get him to lose a few stones. I seem to have destroyed my own argument; we are not going to get in a finished article so perhaps DC needs help.
In Jason Roberts' case it was a combination of his poor first touch and moaning at refs, if we can see that on the terraces why can't managers and training staff?

its easy to kick a man when hes down as the op has but i like matty taylor and believe hes been an important part of our good run. the goals havnt come for him and his confidence in front of the target has totally gone, todays miss was a shocker, maybe he needs to be dropped or tried wide right,im not sure but shouldnt we "the fans" be helping and encouraging him instead of slagging him off? any idiot can see hes putting in the effort so cant see any profit in getting on his back etc But that is exactly what happened with Williams and he didnt miss half the chances Taylor has,so why is he undroppable.IMO if Taylor is the answer then heaven only knows what the question is you replied to my post saying "maybe he needs to be dropped or tried wide right" not sure where "undroppable" came from?

kind of confused by taylor really, his general touch and work rate seem really good but his finishing is outrageously, shockingly bad. can only assume his confidence is at rock bottom, he obviously hasn't formed a functional partnership with cunnington so we can only hope that he works better with whoever is brought in as the next target man. that said, i've no idea why harrison, or even white, aren't given more of a chance

Matt Taylor had a poor game, which is frustrating for him and us but so did most of the team they lacked quality but put in the effort to win the game. But what I can't except was Taylor's Behaviour after the final whistle. I stood in the Dri Build enclosure yes there were a few boos but there just as many clapping the effort put in but Taylor started having a pop at the crowd inviting them on the pitch with several angry gestures. Why do that your not good enough never will be we help to pay your wages . If fans can get a prison sentence, fines and life bans surely this is as bad. Fair play to Ollie Clarke who seen what he was doing and put a arm round and pulled him away. It showed a lack of respect to the supporters who have had to put up with some poor stuff over the last year and none of us want to be in this league a minute longer , I seen in those few seconds he is not up to it and needs to be replaced in the next transfer window. Did anyone else notice this ?

Did anyone else notice this ? Yes, I saw it too,and its not how imo how a professional should act. Regardless, they have to put themselves above that. That said, I maintain that the lad is an excellent footballer, he just is not a goalscorer, if he was he would be playing in the championship. The other problem is ,I think without Sinclair in mid field we can't afford to drop him as there is no one to hold the ball up and the midfield would just be over ran, and that includes Harrison. with Sinclair back to mop up, I think Taylor should be dropped for his own good if nothing else, the next level down he would be a star i'm sure. I would love to see Taylor and Harrison play together. for me thats the partnership, Harrison has genuine pace over the others and Taylor brings players into the game, I think it would work.

Im sure Matt Taylor is a decent lad and a decent player until the penalty area he is not alone on that score. I think its difficult for us as supporters adjusting to this league when we have had a history of good strikers who have made a name further up the scale plus others who have had more quality. I think its hard for us to watch when what seems a simple pass goes wildly wrong or an easy chance goes begging. I guess players like Taylor are feeling the brunt of our frustrations where others before him caused the problems.
