Ugly 1-0 wins in every game from now on would do me.
Might not do much for the old ticker though!

It's a pity we didn't beat Dover as we would be clear in 2nd place tonight, just 2 pts behind Barnet.
We somehow need to score more goals.

Another win is great, but we don't half make it hard for ourselves!
We really need to start killing teams off!
Also how well have Gateshead done since they got walloped by Grimsby 6-0 at home!

3 points separating 2nd and 8th, but rejoice in a Rovers win.

could be the goal tally come the end of the season, unless the front men finally come good and hit a few more per game......... but an ugly win is good enough to keep rovers up there

I don't want to complain about a win, but we really need to find another gear from somewhere if we're to challenge for the playoffs.
A sign of a good team might be that you can win when you're not playing well, but a better sign of a good team is that you can play well.

Another win, 8 games unbeaten, the superb home form continues, it wasn't pretty to watch and lacked any sort of tempo, but in fairness to the players the games have come thick and fast these last few weeks, and the fitness levels of the players helped drag us through to the win. I'll happily take ugly wins, we are flying at the moment and although we aren't thrashing the opposition, the team spirit and character of this group will get us that play off place come April. People say we should be winning games like this, and then say we should be scoring more goals, you can't have it both ways, winning is the most important thing, and our back 5 are a top 3 defensive unit, time for everyone to enjoy being a BRFC supporter at the moment, credit also to DC continuing to do a great job.

We didn't play as well as we did against Dover but Dartford weren't as good a side as Dover so we got the win. Desperately need to make these games safer earlier on in the day really.
But, a win's a win. We're obviously good enough for the top bunch at the moment and I think we'll stay there. More required to challenge convincingly for top spot though.

Who the hell picks the man of the match awards?!
I genuinely felt embarrassd for Matt Taylor, when that was given over the tannoy.
He got through plenty of running again, but not much else. Barely scraped in the penalty & another series of missed chances, no more notable than lashing it into the BE when he had another 5-8 yards of space to attack.
Trotman and Sinclair must wonder what more they can do, to get their hands on that bottle of bubbly.

Surely a Play off place is the least we should now be aiming for, with a decent goalscorer promotion does not look beyond us at the moment.

We need to be scoring more goals (you score goals you win games after all...). Yesterdays game (and the Dover one) should have been over by half time. We just are not clinical enough at this moment in time. I will take the win (always!), but we cannot bury our heads in the sand over our lack of goals. Last season it cost us, we cannot afford to allow it to do the same this time around! Anyway, onto Aldershot. Let's keep this run going!

We should be scoring more goals in games like this. So yes, I believe we can have it both ways and it is something we should be striving to achieve. Even DC has acknowledged this.

Yes but is DC a good enough coach to sort it out ? We can't just blame the forwards for the lack of goals, we only create about 2/3 gilt-edged chances in a game and even Gary Lineker wouldn't get all 3 in a game !! For me it stems from the keeper and the back four - if they just boot it up-field anywhere it's just giving possession back to the opposition and our midfield are being by-passed and not given a chance to get in the game and set up attacks. I would defend the midfield - Mansell, Sinclair and Martin have creativity and composure but rarely get in the positions (through crap football from the back) to set some promising moves up/ or a through ball. I would also add that The Conference teams are generally very basic and poor on the ball like us but their defences have been better than I thought they would be (we are not gifted many goals !!). what do others think ?
