Bought my season ticket a week or two before Mansfield debacle!
I think the reaction to the question shows that "at the end of the day" most fans are willing to put up with anything served up by the club as long as there's a game to plod go to (including me).
The board must love us!

Juventus once held a mass demonstration at a home game in protest of how their club was being run. They all showed up to the game as per usual and packed out their ground as they always do. However, once the whistle was blown to start the match they all simply turned around and faced the away from the football and stood in silence for the entire 90 minutes.
That is how you send a message.

Time to support the club but not cut out the negativity.

Ok - after our relegation game I vowed I wouldn't spend any more money on a season ticket, having been loyal to the gas for over 20 years. However in the cold light of day I just couldn't bear the thought of staying at home on a Saturday and listening to the radio. I capitulated and have bought a more expensive season ticket for this season than last. Why? Either you support the club through thin and thinner and hope that we can turn the corner, return to league football and have happier times as a supporter or you blame everyone else and make matters worse. Its easy to criticize anybody and everybody but as a supporter I'd rather go and do my bit to support the club rather worsen the clubs financial position and help to make it fail.
To put this in perspective think of all those people who on the 5th June 1944 didn't turn their back on a country and give up/run away and made the ultimate sacrifice so future generations may have the freedom we enjoy today,no doubt some were rovers supporters and I don't think they would want any of us to capitulate and would rather fight from within rather than turns our backs in the hour of need, actions speak louder than words!

Surely be better for everyone who's cares enough about the running of the club turn up regardless of their supporters club membership to this extraordinary general meeting on the 17th June. A large number cannot be ignored whereas as a gate of 2K on opening day will do more harm to our club!!

That is how you send a message. It has to be something similar to this for starters, or how Blackpool fans threw tennis balls onto the pitch in protest last season, something a lot of supporters can participate in. Boycotting the match entirely can be the next step if there is no response.

I like the 1944 metaphor in relation to the thread, however our soldiers also went to war, Iraq 2003, blindly led by the Government - that's my metaphor for us fans and the board.

This is a great idea. Lets all turn our back on a new squad of players. What a brilliant message that would send out.
An even better idea would be to turn up and support our team in the hope that we can actually win a few games this year. To start the season in such a negative way would be a recipe for disaster. The poisonous atmosphere around the club will only take us down further.

Yeah, let's make our financial predicament even worse..! That'll show the board. The sooner we go into admin & bankrupt the better. Let's all help and run this club into the ground. Then we can tell the board "told you so" Can't believe someone is telling everyone to help contribute and get Rovers into massive financial problems. *FACE PALM* What about a similar sort of protest that won't hurt financially? I know, say we start a movement and call it Dark Gray and Amber, i will source some scarves and sell them to all that want to protest at say £10 a head. Anybody up for it ?

How would any other type of business survive if they treated their customers like this??? kippogas, you're quite correct when you say that BRFC is a business, but a business only as far as the BoD are concerned. And although we (the fans) are acutely aware of this fact, due to it being rammed down our throats on a fairly regular basis, our attachment to the club is more emotional. I don't believe that too many fans would stay away, but I do believe that they may well be ''up'' for a protest of a different kind.

If the fan base continues as it has, does that not justify the board continuing as it has?

What is causing it? Do you think the fans are causing the poisonous atmosphere? Do you think the fans want to go along to cause a problem for the team and pay for the privilege? For how many years now have the fans totally backed the team? What do you think can be done to improve the Club? Do you think the team on the field is affected by the rest of the Club? Do you think that fans should just turn up and totally back the team? Do you think that fans should want to try to change the team on the field in any way they can? If so how? How can fans help the team and the Club the most? I really am genuinely interested in understanding all fans thoughts. Particularly those who think that all we should do is back the team and leave everything else to others.
