Blimey there's a lot of informed posters on this thread, how do any of us really know what went on during the transfer window, it could be all JW's fault, then again it could be NH didn't give him sufficient funds to attract the right player, after all Taylor & White this season are hardly top strikers at this level and our main striker could return to Luton once his loan spell ends.

John Ward's inept management that resulted in our relegation last season has nothing to do with me or my family, I've simply pointed out over recent months some of his pi** poor decisions and shocking results that left DC in the middle of the ocean with no paddles when he took over. DC was no part of Wards management team, Wardy was his own man and DC was there like a kid on work experience with limited if any input allowed. Actually DC was coaching our defence last season which racked up a superb amount of clean sheets for a relegated team. I am finding it difficult to understand your post, firstly you sday DC had no input into the team last season, then you say he was responsible for the coaching of the defence, the 2 comments do not sit well together, and also as i keep reminding you,it was you who was hounding JW from before the end of the previous season, despite the recovery he inspired.Me thinks you speak with forked tongue He was offered the money to buy a new striker, Jim Chapple said the Supporters Club had made money available, John unfortunately for us stubbornly refused the offer and the rest is history.....

"the on-loan Bristol Rovers striker squandered an excellent stoppage-time chance to clinch victory against Portsmouth. Brunt missed the target from four yards with a 93rd-minute header" DOH!!!!!!!
YORK City boss Nigel Worthington hailed an “outstanding” debut by Ryan Brunt even though the on-loan Bristol Rovers striker squandered an excellent stoppage-time chance to clinch victory against Portsmouth.
Brunt missed the target from four yards with a 93rd-minute header but Worthington felt the 21-year-old forward gave City’s attacking play an extra dimension during Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Bootham Crescent.
He also completed his first 90 minutes in 12 months after missing the final six months of last season due to knee surgery and falling out of favour at the Memorial Stadium this term.
On Brunt’s display, Worthington said: “The big man’s header would have capped a perfect debut because I thought he was outstanding for us. He got hold of the ball and was very strong up there.
“He was a handful for Portsmouth and didn’t allow them to get any free headers. His all-round play was very good and he was prepared to have a pop at goal.
“Some of the positions he took up were very intelligent for a young man and we were in two minds whether to take him off or keep him on and hope that he didn’t get injured, so it’s good that he got through the match and we will make sure he recovers properly for the next game. He was a big plus for us and the kind of presence we have been looking for up there.”

Absolutely outrageous, lost all respect for John Ward calling us 'Bristol'

I said he should have been sacked after the Mansfield away game Oct/Nov time. I was shot to pieces on the old forum because of it. Not saying we would have stayed up, but the chances were a hell of a lot better without him, than with him. Top post Gaz, you really sound like you know your stuff!
